I know this hotel by staying there a LOT during an overseas move to Olympia in 2005. Then when family visited, they stayed there and we swam in the pool. I have since moved from Olympia, but we recently stayed at the Ramada for a week during a visit. It is under renovations and will soon be a Marriott. I'm not sure if this review will be valid then but our experience this time is this: The outside is being painted. It's taking awhile to paint. But the workers covered our cars with protective plastic and tape so overspray wouldn't get on our cars. Very cool! The lobby is on the west side of the hotel at the moment, and is easy to find. The people who worked in the lobby were very friendly and helpful the whole week! The hotel pool is very nice and I wish I had photographed it for this review. Rooms are CLEAN! Really clean! That is important for me above all else. Spacious rooms with a mini fridge and microwave. We stayed in a double queen bed room and the beds were VERY comfortable! Firm and plush. A ton of pillows were provided but we brought our own. No comforters (good! - they do the sheet/blanket/sheet topping, which is great because it gets washed. Although the hotel is near I-5 and Martin Way, and our room faced Martin Way, we weren't bothered by traffic noise except an occasional siren heading toward St Pete's hospital. Across the road is Denny's (which needs an overhaul and the food was questionable to our bellies, but the waitress was very nice and good), Shari's, Burger King. Less than 1/2 mile is Fred Meyer (south) and Safeway (west), and downtown Oly is right down the road a few miles. I know all the hotels in the area (location, outside and a couple from the inside from various stays)and this hotel is one I trust to park my car at, and trust to feel safe and comfortable during a visit 100%! This hotel has a good A/C too! Shell gas station, Dominos Pizza and Jimmy John's sandwiches were in the same lot as the hotel. My negatives (not deal breakers but a decent review needs to tell it all): the television is SOOOO slow to change channels, and the selection is slim, but we did enjoy the hIstory channel and National Geographic channel. But to change channels takes several seconds (like 10). I don't know why. The breakfast was: Toast/English muffins, bagels, three cereals, a crock pot of oatmeal, a waffle maker, eggs, bacon or sausages (depending on the day) and fried potatoes. Orange juice. They were in a temporary setup due to the construction but they still provided those items. no yogurt, fruit, etc. like some continentals and years ago they used to provide biscuits and gravy which was really nice. Anyway, it was just ok but we were happy they provided it. Also provided coffee. The shower water was absolutely WAY too low of pressure. REALLY low. we used more water trying to rinse than we would have if the water was a full pressure. This was not fun to use each day and hopefully they will fix that soon because the shower itself was clean and spacious. They provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Overall we were VERY pleased with our visit and would stay there again without a doubt. The pool is really big and nice, and there is also a hot tub. There's a nice workout room too! Lots of windows and light in the hotel. I hope Marriott is still affordable when they take over because we really have loved our stays there over the past 20 years.

We stayed here July 2026 and the hotel was undergoing extensive renovation. The rooms were newly refurbished and comfortable, but the construction was unaccommodating. See photos. Parking was reduced and some nites close spots were not available (even disabled parking). We booked online, so no mention of construction was mentioned. There was no front lobby or regular check in counter. We checked in at a desk in the hallway of the first floor. Young blonde kid manning the desk needs an education in customer service. Mostly curt and uninviting. It was the first time at any destination where I wasn’t asked how my stay was or if I had any issues at check out. All he said was email or printed receipt for my stay. I just laughed in my head and thought typical gen Z attitude. Thanks for the stay, now get out. Lol Would I recommend in the future? 50/50
