“Very pleasant”

We stayed at the Lexington hotel on Broadway. Room was nice. Staff was great and it was quiet. The only little down side was we couldn't connect Internet and the elevator was down.

The check in process was easy and Damian was a friendly, helpful clerk. Our room was nice and clean, we had the luxury of TWO KING BEDS, and they were very comfortable. We all slept well. The breakfast was quite adequate. We made fresh waffles, had fruit, juice, coffee, yogurt; plenty of good breakfast choices. Other ammenities at the property were disappointing. Things we needed that we checked on ahead of time were all OUT OF ORDER; the elevator (we schlepped our luggage up 2 flights of stairs), the ice machine didn't work, the laundry room was out of order and we had to drive across town to find one that was open late; and the TV in our room would not turn on. We had the large mounted bottles of lotion and soap at the sink, but the soap dispenser was empty. So it's a very mixed review.

I can't say the location in town was the greatest, but the hotel was pretty easy to get to. We did book for the price point of the hotel. It was under a lot of construction, and very confusing because it must be going through a name change. I reserved it through the Wyndham app as Days Inn, but when we arrived and found the parking lot half blocked off due to paving and a bunch of construction equipment and piles of materials everywhere, we noticed there were draped banners over the Days Inn signs that says Baymont, so at first we weren't even sure we were at the correct hotel. We did pre-check in on the app and yet had to go through all of it all over again at the front desk, ID, credit card, signing paperwork, getting keys activated which seemed to give them some issues because 2 people tried multiple times to get them active. It just seemed to take a long time at check in. We asked about an elevator if we were getting an upper room, and the check in girl shrugged and said the whole building was under construction, but they did have an elevator - so I don't know if that was supposed to mean the elevator wasn't working? Either way, we asked for a first floor room because we had a lot of stuff. Got into the room and overall, it looked fairly clean and recently updated. The floor was newer appearing and different than the photos I saw online and on TA. I always check over a room before we get settled, and while doing so, I found a used towel in the shower, that had been there long enough to dry out and solidify into the shape where it was clumped up, and I also found a chewed up wad of bubblegum on the side of the mattress cover, like someone was chewing gum and then wanted to hide it down on the corner of the mattress. Ew. It pays to always check the bottom corners of the mattress. TV and Wifi worked fine. Next issue is not the hotel's fault but it definitely detracted from the stay and I would not stay at this hotel again - partially due to the location, just seemed not great, and at 2 AM between overnight of Saturday into Sunday, someone sat in the parking lot not far from our room, absolutely blasting their trashy music with the bass and subwoofers blaring so loud it was shaking the wall of our room. After 20 minutes, I called the Lexington non emergency police, hoping they could come and make it stop. It was another 20 minutes, until almost 3am, before it stopped. NOT a great experience when we had a full 8 hour travel day in just a few hours. I will say, being on the first floor, we had a back door on the room which opened to the parking lot, so we could park right there and move our stuff in which made it super convenient, actually. Entrance with the key card was from the inside, but the outside facing door could be opened once in the room and it didn't lock you back out once closed.
