4:00 check in time is unacceptable. It is not rocket surgery – service vacated rooms first, allow guests in when they arrive. This does not cost the motel anything extra, it is just better management. There were no USB charging stations. The rooms at Comfort Suites East were properly designed with a solid bathroom door that locks. We have been thoroughly disappointed by the recent trend to translucent, unlockable sliding bathroom doors. Our double queen room was large and fully equipped: big TV with lots of channels; fast enough WiFi with no password; desk with office chair; microwave; a couple of large drawers; sofa; upholstered chair; closet with door and wooden hangers; luggage rack; padded footstools/coffee tables; controllable HVAC unit under the window; night stand between the queen beds; fairly effective black out curtains, plenty of lights; iron and ironing board; enough counter space in the bathroom; hair dryer; coffee maker; ample hot water in the shower. Room did not meet my definition of a suite, but there is a partial room divider between the beds and sitting area. We suffered repetitive problems with magnetic strip key cards in a couple of rooms, might take ten tries to properly scan, sometimes we would get the green light, but the door handle wouldn't “catch”. Our bed was short sheeted, I hate to have to remake a motel bed. Included breakfast was standard Comfort Suites fare: three kinds of dry cereal; DIY waffles; bagels; scrambled eggs; sausage; yogurt, and more, I found it satisfying.

The hotel from the outside is cosmetically inviting. The staff was friendly and check in was quick and efficient. The room we stayed in had numerous issues that needed to be corrected. The handles at the bathroom sink would barely turn on and off. I felt like I was going to snap a handle off. The hotel water was overly hot and the hot water tanks probably need to be checked for temperature. There was a good sized hole in the drywall behind the door. Two of the lamps did not work due to bad bulbs. A couple of the bath towels should have never been used due to damage/holes. The room was clean enough ~ but there could have been a few more details in staging that would have helped this dated room look so much better. The pool was closed due to repair? I was told by another employee that the pool had been closed for weeks. Management needs to work on correcting all the visual issues so they can maximize rates.
