“Perfect Spot for Viewing Bourbon Street”

We were on a 10 day road-trip with our final 2 nights in the French Quarter and I wanted to experience staying on Bourbon Street; literally I wanted to see and hear everything Bourbon has to give. At check-in the rep asked “did you mean to book that room?” Yes we did!! We originally requested a 3rd floor private balcony but were given a 4th floor private balcony and oh hell yea was this perfect. Open the French doors and the cacophony of Bourbon St. envelopes the room; it’s everywhere. But close the French doors and it’s quiet; how I don’t know but perfectly comfortably quiet for us. Added bonus, this being Easter, our 4th floor balcony gave us such a fantastic viewing spot to watch the colorful sights coming down Bourbon heading to the gay Easter parade a few blocks away. Our room also gave us a great vantage point for watching sunrise with the St.Louis Cathedral steeple in the foreground. On our final night we decided to order take-out to enjoy from our balcony; dinner and a show essentially, and cheaper too. Hotel is centrally located on Bourbon, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, complimentary coffee available around 6am (big plus given it’s normally 7am everywhere else) made this a perfect hotel for us.

“Location in the Middle!”

This hotel was good. Walking out the door to be on Bourbon was spot on. The room was a double Queen with a balcony facing the pool area. They don’t have King Bed rooms. This hotel was good. Walking out the door to be on Bourbon was spot on. The room was a double Queen with a balcony facing the pool area. They don’t have King Bed rooms. The beds were comfortable, even though, my back hurt a little when I woke up. The pillows were basically flat, but there were 4 on each bed, and two was a necessity. The shower head was okay and unusual, seemed like something you’d find in Europe. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful. We ordered room service breakfast the last day and it was in a box! The eggs were next the potatoes with the toast that was more soggy than toasted by the steam of the food IN A BOX! It was mostly inedible (IMO) except for the bacon. Go down for breakfast, that has to better. We stayed there because of Marriott points. It was fine but we’d stay somewhere else next time.

The room was clean and as expected; no problems there. The balcony was spacious and fun for people watching on Bourbon. The non-functioning elevator(s-both were broken on our checkout day making us carry luggage down three flights of stairs) for most of our stay, and the ENTIRE staff - with the exception of the valets - looking continuously like they had no desire to be there or interact with anyone was a bit of a damper. The security staff looked completely downtrodden, the front desk staff looked constantly harried, distracted and inconvenienced by any interaction at all, and the bar staff not making any eye/face contact at all is why it was only three stars.

“It's loud. Good For Party Goers.”

It is right across from La Habana Hemingway Cigars and Fuego Bourbon, a very loud Hispanic music nightclub. Excellent location, just a few blocks down Bourbon and Canal. The hotel is clean and comfortable. They take security very seriously. To get in, you will have to show your room key because, logically, at night, there is really high traffic of people, either just getting out of the three nightclubs across from it, or just drunk people strolling up and down Bourbon St. The restaurant was great, with amazing coffee and breakfast sandwiches. TK, Cecilia, and Javier took great care in making us feel welcomed every morning in the restaurant. The room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable. I had an early flight on our last day, and there was no water that day when we woke up, so it was a bit challenging. I had reserved a room facing Bourbon St. because my daughter-in-law wanted to take some of her wedding pictures on the lovely balconies; however, they gave us a room on the 4th floor, which means the balconies were small, not the cool New Orleans balcony. I had emailed Ronita about this when I received their welcoming email a few days prior to the trip, but got no response. Once at the hotel, I spoke to the front desk, and they said we couldn't take some pictures. It is what it is. Alexandra was very pleasant on the night we arrived, spoke to my mom in Spanish, and made her feel welcome.
