Good location with walking distance to Jackson square, bourbon street, Canal Street and street car stops. Room is basic-clean with modern bathroom and coffee maker. The building is older which is part of the character. Nice pool area. Friendly staff! The only disappointment was I paid more for a balcony room that faced dirty alley.

We booked this trip just to go a place warmer for the Christmas holiday. We selected the IHG property since we frequent their hotels across the country. I want to be completely objective with the review and weigh the good and the bad. First off this is a great location when visiting the French Quarter. The hotel is one block off Bourbon Street and maybe three blocks in from Canal Street. Everything is within walking distance, and the Chateau Lemoyne provided a great home base. There are plenty of restaurants in the immediate area heading down Bienville Street. The concierge was very help and provided guidance for planning tours and events. He provided a quick history lesson also. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided help from the time we entered the hotel right up to the time we left. Great customer service. The hotel is older and is probably well used based on its location. The carpeting in the hallways is worn but it is probably difficult to keep it looking newer because of volume. The carpeting in our room was fine. Let's face it, we don't sleep on the floors. The room was spacious and bathroom was clean. We had a balcony overlooking Bienville Street and the front of the hotel. If you are going to pay extra for a balcony, get it overlooking the courtyard. Otherwise pass on the balcony. The HVAC was a little noisy, but this is not uncommon from my experience in hotels. The room was comfortable and quiet. I do have some helpful suggestions and recommendations. The hotel charges an amenities fee on a daily basis. Some folks in past reviewers freaked out about this fee. Here is the way we utilized it. We added the breakfast package as part of our booking. We were surprised we could only order of a limited breakfast menu but as part of the amenities the hotel provided a daily $15 food and beverage credit (no alcohol) so we used that along with the breakfast package we purchased. We had more than enough to eat and the food was good. The restaurant is a waffle place and most of the waffle selections were like desserts. We stuck to the basic eggs, meat and potato breakfasts offered with the limited menu and supplemented that with fruit or extras off the regular menu using the $15 credit. The amenities package also provided an RTA "Jazzy Pass" that gives one person a free 24-hour public transportation pass. Depending on your age it will cost a $1 or $3 for another pass. Well worth it for exploring the city. The only restaurant negatives were than the windowsills had some dead insects on the them and they were not real clean. The servers were a little confused on the orders we placed but they were attentive so I cannot really complain. I don't think the place could handle a large crowd for breakfast. The bar was open for breakfast, and they did have an espresso machine if you like a drink or a good jolt for breakfast. The only real negative was that the restaurant was unexpectantly closed on Christmas morning. We were compensated and received apologies. I would stay here again.

The hotel is definitely dated. Could use some new updates like carpeting and maybe a level floor. I really did believe the hotel was haunted when I first got there because it has that kind of vibe. But lo and behold, I was not visited by any shimmering ghosts in the middle of the night. The bed was really comfortable. The pillows were so great my husband wanted me to find them on Amazon and order them. Bathroom was clean and overall would probably stay again. The best thing about this hotel is 100% the location. It is only one block from Bourbon Street and a quick 10 minute walk to Jackson Square. Staff was very nice especially the old guy working at the concierge desk. The only thing that was a real bummer for us was the cost for parking. We literally pulled in on a Thursday and left on a Saturday never taking our car out of valet. They parked it across the street, which is where it sat the entire time when we were there and we were charged $58 a night which is ridiculous. The hotel restaurant is a waffle restaurant in which we had breakfast the last day. However, it too was ridiculously priced. The hotel gives a $15 per day credit and even with our credit our two morning breakfasts and two coffees cost $63.
