Stayed in a Double Queen Greenway View on higher floor for a few nights with fam. Solid hotel overall, with very good front desk and amazing lobby. Location is fantastic as right there on the waterfront, easy access to historic sights, North End, Seafront area, Chinatown, Common, et al. Bath had nice marble tub and separate shower. Very nice. Single sink though but can live with that. Some criticisms, however, which should not deter you overall but given this hotel can get pricey, things you should know. Toilet seat not soft close, so slams every time you close. A/C in room doesnt work great at all. Likely due to the paper thin single pane windows so in Summer, will need to keep blackout curtains closed or else room doesnt cool below 70 degrees, even at night. You’ll notice how the hallway A/C and Lobby A/C works much better. Back to the room windows. Again, single pane and thin so you will hear street noise if facing the Greenway. In particular, one of the larger Boston Fire Stations is directly across the greenway so you will hear them going out on calls throughout the day and night. Bring earplugs. Odd that the hotel didnt have them in the room. Pillows are very thin. As are the blanket/comforter. Also, for some unknown reason, they put the coffee maker inside the credenza. So you have to bend over oddly to work it. Breakfast was fine, just very few choices at the buffet, The a la carte food at the breakfast was very good as was the coffees and teas. The bar out back, however, was a huge miss. There are two bars. One inside in the lobby, adjacent to the main restaurant, where breakfast is served and then one outside in the back in a little courtyard that opens for nighttime. That one needs new management, and better bartenders. It was easy to see why no one goes there, while the next door Smith and Wollenskys outdoor bar was hopping. Gym is ok albeit narrow and it has a pool (indoor). Service at front desk great but I noticed that when you used room phone to call, you got someone else who was nice enough and would take your call but seemed to frequently simply not do or forget what you just asked them for. Became quite frustrating. Also, evidently there’s an ice machine on each floor, old school style. Overall, it’s a fine hotel, but the single pane windows were not appreciated at all and candidly the Boston Harbor Hotel a few steps to the North is much better, but if youre an IHG status holder, this one will do as the location is great.

“Choose another hotel for last minute waterfront 5 star”

Great location for waterfront. Atmosphere was up market. Rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable to excellent. The value, at over $900 for one night booked through booking .com was not even close to being competitive.

Location is fantastic. Rooms for families of four are on the small side of things. The doors connecting rooms are very thin, so be ready to enjoy the conversations of your next door neighbours, even if they are not speaking loudly. Location is fantastic. Rooms for families of four are on the small side of things. The doors connecting rooms are very thin, so be ready to enjoy the conversations of your next door neighbours, even if they are not speaking loudly. They also have this security or maintenance person patrolling the corridors with the loudest walkie-talkie ever, so be ready to be woken up (he/she should wear an ear-piece so that we don't wake everybody up). The fitness room is also nice. So why the 3-star rating? This place is so overpriced it's not even funny. You could argue it's the market, but the price for what you get is seriously insane (70+ countries visited, so not my first rodeo). Will definitely stay elsewhere next time I'm in town
