Can’t rave enough about The Ocean Club on Smugglers beach: clean as a whistle, crispy clean linen, remodeled. The staff was welcoming, helpful, the peak example of customer service we all hope to get on vacation. The ice cream socials every evening! I could go on and on. It was the perfect vacation spot on gorgeous Cape Cod.

“Need new beds”

We go here ever year and love it. The only problem is the beds are horrible. Next yr I am bringing my blow-up mattress. They need beds.

This is about our 4th or 5th time staying here so that ought to tell you something. It's not perfect by any means, but it's location and unique amenities always bring you back. It is a timeshare facility so we always get the the sales call to come listen to the pitch, which is fine. But I could offer a few suggestions that would make more people amenable to a timeshare offer. We stayed in unit 26 this time for three nights and the unit was clean, well stocked with towels, soap and the usual amenities you would expect, and the help was friendly and helpful. **On the flip side,however (no pun intended) the mattress should have been tossed 5 years ago. No matter how my wife and I flipped that thing around, it was still as uncomfortable as heck. We were either falling off the edges or the blood was rushing to our heads as we looked at our toes against the backdrop of the ceiling. Now considering most of us spend maybe 7 to 10 hours attempting to sleep after a day of shopping and exploring The Cape, one would think it's the most important feature a place to stay has to offer. And I imagine I'm not the only person to comment on the mattress in that room, so that also should tell you something. Speaking of sleep quality, you should also know that the walls are paper thin. I mean really thin. As most of you know, the way most of these places are structured, the beds from adjacent units share a common wall to facilitate common plumbing and electrical pipes and ducts. And during our last stay, the guy in the room next to us snored like a freight train. I mean it was LOUD. We're pretty used to the usual sounds and noises like running water , footsteps etc., but snoring is a new one. Next on the list is the stream, or trickle, of water that comes out of the shower. There was plenty of hot water, it was just the lack of volume. I'm bald, so I could make do, but my wife has very long hair and the trickle was not acceptable. Now as I mentioned at the top of this review, we have stayed here a number of times, but we are getting older now and perhaps our priorities are shifting. And as such, the items I've picked on here become more important to us. And I can accept that. All I would suggest really is the following. If they are going put you in unit 26, ask them if they installed a new mattress. I not, ask for another room. You'll thank me later.
