The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. One of our rooms was on the road side, but noise levels were not really an issue. There was a fairly good selection of food at breakfast. Overall, it did the job. However, we had several issues with airport/hotel shuttle service. Our understanding was that the shuttle ran every 20-30 minutes, but in actual fact the only way to ensure a pick up from the airport or Wood Island station is to call ahead. As international travellers, we had trouble with our calls going through to the hotel. We were told that we could ask staff at either the airport or station to call for us/for us to use their phone - both gambles, since there were not always staff present! One night we arrived at the airport at around 11pm and managed to find an airport staff member to call the hotel for us. We tried 3 times with no answer and ended up having to get an Uber back to the hotel. When we spoke to the receptionist about why no one had answered the calls, she said she'd "just got on shift", so it wasn't her dealing with the phone calls and that the phone had actually been put on silent. A different receptionist in the morning confirmed that the number we had called was correct and we were told that the phone should not have been put on silent by the night shift. On other nights we either got an Uber or walked approx. 20 minutes from Beachmont station because our calls didn't go through, or we were lucky to find that there were other guests waiting for pick up. On our final day, we found out the number the receptionist gave us previously was incorrect and we were finally given the correct number, but it was too little too late. For a hotel that is not in the most accessible location via public transport and used by many international travellers, the staff did not have a good knowledge of a) the correct contact number, b) alternative ways international travellers could contact the hotel if calls didn't go through, and c) alternative ways to get to the hotel if we couldn't rely on the shuttle. If the shuttle truly did run every 20-30 minutes with regular stops at Wood Island station and the airport without the need for guests to call ahead, it would make everyone's life a lot easier!

When I call the front desk to pick me up at the airport, the shuttle is always excessively late. I am frequently placed on hold. In addition, the shuttle vans are old and need to be replaced. There needs to be more staff during the busiest hours. The rooms are neat, clean, roomy, and the noise level is low; the free breakfast in the morning is a welcome addition. Overall, the staff is helpful. For the price, it is a good value. The location is excellent. If the shuttle was better, I would give the hotel a higher rating.
