It’s average. Below expectations when compared to other Fairfield’s I’ve stayed at. The carpeting throughout the hotel is dated. Our room had an unpleasant odour. Thankfully the windows opened. The public restrooms off the 1st floor were definitely not cared for regularly during my visit. Those items aside, the staff was friendly, and the complimentary breakfast was edible. There is ample parking available, and good restaurants and shopping are a short drive away.

“Sloppy housekeeping killed the stars”

I stayed with this fairfield inn for 7 nights (early sept 24 to mid sept). First time. Location is good; very close to I-75, free onsite parking, food nearby. Breakfast has good enough varieties for this level of hotel; breakfast staff maintained the place clean, and made sure not running out of food or drinks. All day coffee and hot water. Indoor pool is very small. Front desk staff is generally nice and friendly and helpful. Overall the atmosphere is good. Decent size for the room. Very small closet but with a few large drawers. Aircon and heat worked well. Beds are reasonably comfy. 1 sink in the bathroom. So, it’s supposed to be at least 4 star, but why 3. It’s the housekeeping; we were put on 3F. The first time our room was supposed to be cleaned, we forgot to hang the “do not disturb” tag outside, so the housekeeping was in our room already when we came back from breakfast around 8:30am. Since my partner and I were rushing out, we asked the lady to come back later and we’d kick ourselves out within 15 min. At that time she was just “done” with the bathroom. So - when we came back in late afternoon, we found she didn’t come back, so the beds were not made and dirty towels were still in the room. It was fine, but she took the soap without leaving a replacement. Called the front desk, was told HK had gone for the day. Fine; we went to 1F and got soap from the front desk. The second time, we saw the HK, let her know the body wash bottle was empty, and told her our room #. In the evening, while standing in the shower - nope, she didn’t fill the body wash. Again, see the front desk to get the body wash…. So, my partner and I started to bet on the things housekeeping would ooops they forgot; one HK threw us lot of bath towels but no hand towels and washcloth. Another one didn’t leave toilet paper. Then another one didn’t make the beds (but took the tips on the pillow; and no, we didn’t leave any personal items on beds; we know HK can’t touch the beds if personal items were left on bed)..... It had become our entertainment to guess what were the things HK didn’t leave us or didn’t do. What we though appreciated was they always took away the trash; thank goodness. Sloppy housekeeping earns 2 star. Drags the rating down to 3. I will be traveling to Troy pretty often, but we’re done playing the missing stuff from housekeeping guessing game. So this is it. Will explore and find another place to stay.
