The location was great when you are going to a Timberwolves game. The room was nice size, and it was very clean. I love how they had sky walks that take you to certain places instead of having to walk in the cold. The noise level at certain times were good but otherwise we had somebody above us, and I don't know what they were doing at 5 am pounding on the flooring or stomping like a giant but it was rude and then there was somebody next door that had a dog that was jumping around in the cage and the cage was banging on the wall at 2 am. I thought otherwise the hotel was great to stay at.

“Good, Not Great, Central Option”

I stayed at the Hampton during a conference. The Hampton does connect to the Convention Center via the Skywalk, but it is about a 30 minute walk. I didn't mind the walk, but it was a little bit of a confusing journey the first day over. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and comfortable. The Hampton cleans the room every other day, which always annoys me with post-Covid hotels, but you can request more frequent cleans if you want. The hotel uses a digital key which mostly works, but can get annoying with the elevator. I often saw people get stuck riding the elevator up and down because they didn't have easy access to the digital key. The breakfast had plenty of options and was a nice amenity. Lastly, the employees were just ok. It seemed like a lot of them were new and didn't really have a grasp on how to talk to guests in a customer friendly way. Overall, this is a good option, but not a great option. The distance from the convention center makes it just ok for conference use, but would be a much better hotel for those visiting the arena or ballpark as those are super close. You are also a couple blocks away from the metro, making it easy to connect to other parts of the region.

I am a loyal Hampton Inn client. It is my go to hotel brand. The check in was smooth. The front desk was very nice. When I got to my room, there was barely a sliver of toilet paper on the roll and no spare roll in the room. As we were leaving for dinner I mentioned it to the front desk. They told me they would put a roll before I returned. Fair enough. Upon my return the was no TP so I had to go down to the front desk to get some. The next morning, when leaving for work, I asked if they could have housekeeping freshen my room. They said, “no problem”. I said thanks. Upon my return after work later that evening my room was not done. I called the front desk and asked if they could please, at least, send me some fresh towels. They said, “no problem” but towels never ever arrived. I just reused the dirty towels that I had rolled up in the floor for housekeeping. No bueno. What made it even more frustrating was that probably the top reason I chose Hilton Hampton Inn is because of the washer dryer laundry room. Every Hampton inn has one. I was surprised this one did not. I just needed to wash my underwear, jeans, and t shirts. Nothing fancy. I don’t need a laundry service, especially one that brings it back the next day. I had to walk to Target to buy underwear that I didn’t need. However, that’s life on the road. I understand this. But this Hampton inn, in my opinion, was a total let down. The staff was nice. Breakfast was good. The service was definitely not up to the quality that is normally offered.

When we were researching hotels when we came into town for a football game, our past experiences with Hampton Inn’s is what led us towards this one. When we checked in, Kelly was very nice and helpful, and gave us a ton of information. However, the best piece of advice was left out. When I say left out, I mean they have brochures on restaurants, bars and even the skyway. However, what is not stated anywhere is, the skyway is not open on the weekends. It isn’t mentioned by the staff, the map or even signage at the entry to the skyway. So when you go to use it, you can walk a certain distance in either way, and are met with locked doors and no notice. We were trying to get to the stadium and definitely would have loved being informed to not attempt the skyway in a weekend. But, that shouldn’t affect the hotel to getting a three star right? Nope that was earned by the hotel itself. Never have I stayed at a Hampton inn that you could only get lukewarm warm water for a shower. If it was only on one of the days, maybe it was a busy time of the day, but nope, all three days. The breakfast was also a major disappointment. There was no variety, same stuff everyday. And if you decide to come down after 9am, well most of the bread/bagels and allegedly muffins will be gone. The final icing on the cake came when I went to check out, the gentleman at the front desk was more concerned about what was on his phone, then worrying about me wanting to check out. Both my GF and I called him Mr. Personality because of his attitude. Maybe he should spend some time with Ms. Kelly to get some tips. If you do stay at this hotel, please be cautious of the area to the left out of the exit. There was some raucous activity near the parking garage and appeared to be arguing with local authorities. The same activities were ongoing from the area our whole trip. The room was clean and housekeeping was very polite. The bath faucet was pulled off of the wall and could use some plumbing attention.
