My recent stay at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch was highly memorable, anchored by an unmatched location and excellent service. The customer service here feels truly world-class. Every staff member I encountered—from the front desk reception to the waitstaff—was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The overall atmosphere of the property is modern, bustling, and upscale, making it feel like a premium downtown destination. The absolute highlight of the trip was booking an Arch View room. Waking up to an unobstructed, panoramic view of the Gateway Arch and the Mississippi Riverfront right from the window was spectacular. Watching the sun rise over the monument is well worth the room upgrade. The on-site dining options were also phenomenal. We had a wonderful dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House located right in the lobby, which served perfectly prepared steaks alongside great views. The breakfast at Red Kitchen & Bar was equally impressive, offering fresh, high-quality options that gave us a perfect start to the day. However, the room cleanliness fell slightly short of the hotel's otherwise high standards. While the bedding itself was fresh, the room layout needed a deeper clean. The carpet was noticeably dirty with visible stains, and the HVAC vent was thick with dust, which triggered my allergies when the air kicked on. While these maintenance issues didn't ruin the trip, fixing them would elevate the Hyatt Regency from a great stay to a flawless one. I would gladly stay here again for the staff, food, and views!

Location was perfect! Easy to get to interstates to get to other areas of town. Walking distance to the Cardinals. Beautiful with the Arch right beside the hotel. Friendly staff. Only thing that kept me from 5/5 is the housekeeping never changed our towels. We requested that housekeeping come daily. On the 3rd might I had to call down for bath linens. They were quickly brought up by front desk staff but then we had a pile of linens left that were dirty to work around.

The hotel itself is in a great location right by the Arch, the room was clean and comfortable, housekeeping was excellent, and the staff were courteous throughout. On most counts this was a solid stay. What dropped it for me was the handling of my World of Hyatt Globalist late checkout. The 4 p.m. late checkout is a guaranteed Globalist benefit at standard Hyatt hotels — under the program terms, the "subject to availability" qualifier applies only to casinos, resorts, and Destination/Residence Club properties. This is a downtown Hyatt Regency, none of those. I requested the 4 p.m. and was repeatedly told it was "subject to availability." When I escalated, the manager on duty acknowledged this is not a resort but still refused the 4 p.m. — and declined even a paid late checkout — while at the same time offering to sell me the room for another full night. So the room clearly existed; the issue was the property declining to apply its own guarantee. Courtesy was never the problem. The problem is a guaranteed elite benefit being treated as discretionary, which is exactly the kind of inconsistency that erodes the value of loyalty status. I hope management reviews how this benefit is applied going forward.
