The Summit Hotel is ideally located for ski in/out as there are two ski lifts just outside the backdoor of the hotel. They make the skiing (or boarding experience) easy with a ski valet positioned outside the rear door where you can park your skis and equipment overnight. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the hotel amenities are great. If you want to take a break from skiing there is a Himalayan salt sauna, hot tub, heated pool and exercise center in the hotel. The hotel also has two nice restaurants/bars, one casual and the other more formal. It also has a shop that carries all sorts of outdoor clothing and other items in case you forgot something. The hotel was clean and very quiet except for the snow plows that started operating at early hours when it snowed overnight. The hotel staff were professional and very courteous and helpful.

We had a great experience here! We were here the second week of September and enjoyed amazing weather and no crowds! From the first interaction with the valet/bellhop guys (who were all very friendly and helpful for the duration of the stay), we had great customer service. (For example, we realized after we were settled in the room that one of us had left our phone in the car....we returned to the valet station and he volunteered to go look in the car and if he couldn't find it, to drive around. He ended up bringing our vehicle to us after he didn't find it and we were able to locate the phone). The hotel smelled fantastic right as you walked through the doors. I had seen some reviews prior to our stay that stated they had noise issues, but we experienced none of that...we had peace and quiet. (Albeit the hotel seemed pretty empty during our stay) We were in room 712 and had a nice view of the pool/terrace area and were able to see the mountain bikers going up and down. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Turndown service with the warm caramels was a nice touch. We had planned to take the lifts to the top of the mountain for sightseeing and were pleasantly surprised to discover those tickets were complimentary with our stay (and we thoroughly enjoyed using them). The staff at the Carabiner were friendly and assisted with getting our morning coffee. We loved the beautiful flowers on the grounds as well. Would highly recommend staying here and we will be back during ski season!

“Outstanding on every level! ”

One really can't ask for much more than you get here. Beautiful on every level. Very nice room with a full kitchen, fire place, and of course a gorgeous view. Some complain about the Murphy bed. It is somewhat inconvenient, but I found it very comfortable. Beautiful bathroom with walk in. Spa/workout facility was outstanding. Everybody very friendly. Can't wait to go back!

My family and I stayed in Room 431 at The Summit Hotel, and overall, we had a wonderful experience. The hotel itself was warm and welcoming, with great service, drinks, and food. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful—with the exception of one individual, which I’ll mention later. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. It was small and cozy, but having the electric fireplace on while looking out at the mountain scenery made it especially relaxing. At the front desk, there were thoughtful touches like chocolates, a variety of stroopwafels, hot chocolate, cider, and coffee available, which we really appreciated. The bellhops were excellent—very friendly, engaging, and helpful. They even provided transportation to and from town, and we genuinely enjoyed our conversations with them. I wish I remembered their names, but I do recall one was originally from New Jersey and another grew up in California. The restaurants on the property were also very good. After a morning of snowboarding, it was the perfect place to unwind—whether in the warm pool, sauna, or with a refreshing cold shower. The amenities felt like a spa, with a great mix of hot and cold options. Overall, the atmosphere throughout the property was kind and respectful. Unfortunately, we did have one negative interaction. An employee named Emily, who was working in the pool area folding towels and refilling the complimentary water station, spoke to me in a way that felt unnecessarily rude. My family and I brought our own water bottles to stay hydrated without constantly leaving the pool area. When I went to refill my daughter’s bottle, I gently tilted the water jug to get the remaining water. As I was doing so, Emily walked by and said, “I wouldn’t do that—my manager cut her hand and needed 40 stitches. You filled up your bottle, and now I have to replace the water.” It wasn’t so much what she said, but how she said it—her tone, facial expression, and body language came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. I responded calmly, letting her know it was my first time using the water station. After thinking about the interaction, I went back and told her that her approach felt rude and that I considered speaking with her manager (though I ultimately chose not to). Perhaps she was having a difficult day, but the interaction stood out—especially given how positive and accommodating everyone else had been. Water stations are placed throughout the property for guest convenience, and considering the cost of our stay—over $4,000, not including tips, dining, lessons, and activities—it’s reasonable to expect to use those amenities comfortably. That said, this was just one moment in an otherwise excellent stay. It didn’t ruin our experience, and we would definitely return. Snowboarding instructors Jeff and Ed were great!
