COMFORT INNS continues to be a reliable accommodation for people such as myself booking as a CHOICE PRIVILEDGE member on the interwebs and sight unseen. A big "thanks" to RECEPTION people (BUD & MORGAN) for friendly and quick check-in which I needed at the end of a long driving day. The room was great although I did have to solve a bit of a windy noise problem with the windows (some weather stripping in the track is needed) but the room was excellent in all areas; cleanliness, sleep comfort, washroom supplies...etc.... The only complaint I have (with a LOT of the southern motels BTW) is the DIRECT TV service they provide. This TV had no control over the channel guide and I had to arduously flip through ALLLLLL the channels without access to an actual GUIDE on the remote. A minor problem but annoying nonetheless. Like most of my CHOICE HOTELS on this trip from YUMA, AZ they provide an EXCELLENT breakfast selection well worth the stay.

The first night of our stay I would have rated this hotel a 3/5, while the final night was easily a 5/5. The biggest difference was the large number of sports teams staying at the hotel during the first night. On Saturday evening, we went to the pool and there were approximately 20 people in it at once. While children playing and jumping in was completely understandable, a group of teenagers began roughhousing along the pool deck, including backflips and body-slamming into the water. They were not paying attention to the younger children nearby, which created an unsafe environment. The posted pool rules clearly state that roughhousing is not permitted, and if diving is prohibited, backflips likely should be as well. I contacted reception and was told there was not much they could do. A staff member briefly checked the pool area and spoke to the group, but the behaviour continued. Unfortunately, the rules were not being enforced, and both our family and another family chose to leave because it no longer felt safe. I’m honestly surprised no one was seriously injured. We stayed on the third floor, and the first night was also very noisy with children running, jumping, and slamming doors late into the evening. Once the sports teams had checked out, however, the atmosphere changed completely and the hotel became quiet, relaxing, and very enjoyable. The beds were comfortable, and the room was well equipped with a nice TV that included Netflix, a microwave, fridge, and basic toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and soap. One small issue was that the fridge froze some of our food. Breakfast was excellent, and Alice in particular was incredibly kind and friendly. The waffle station was a highlight, and the coffee was very good as well. The shower had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. Overall, I would stay here again, but ideally during a quieter time when large sports teams are not staying at the hotel.
