This hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at: great location on the water (incredible bay views watching the otters), very attentive service everywhere (at check-in, in the restaurant, for valet parking, in the gym), impeccably clean and well-appointed rooms with very comfortable beds, a convenient and clean pool, and fully equipped gym with plenty of (working) exercise machines and free weights. The restaurant food is also first class. There is nothing that I can think of that could be done better!

“Terrible Customer Service”

This hotel has a VERY nice location. It is clean and bright with all of the amenities. I love the "lodge" feel of the lounge area. There are games that young adults or older children can play built into the tables or you can sit and watch the ocean on the outdoor patio. The room was fairly clean although, I did find a hair rubberband next to the bed which is off putting. The plugs and charger ports did not work next to the beds, and there were not enough towels for the 4 of us. The bathrooms have very dim lighting so prepare to be confused on that. We had that door that tells me we were in a connecting room. The neighbors fought ALL night!!! The fighting did not stop until after 2am. I did call and report this TWICE...as they were slamming doors and we could hear the lady crying and the man yelling. It did not stop. I never saw or heard anyone come by and I was looking! We ate downstairs at the restaurant which was tasty and had good service. The hostess was nice/helpful....only downfall is that our waitress was chewing bubblegum!! IMO this is not acceptable in any food establishment. The hotel put a hold on my credit card because I booked at last minute but then they charged me in full for the time we stayed. When booking, we were driving and there was a dead spot and the hotel booked twice for the same night. I was told that I would lose $700.00 if I were to cancel one of the rooms. I tried to explain that I did not book it twice that it was a glitch. I had double charges for everything. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they were VERY rude about it. It took a month....ONE MONTH to get the funds reversed and back on my credit card. After, I booked a room for Junes stay. I tried to cancel that stay in May literally a couple days after booking it and was told that I could not cancel because it was already past the date of cancelation, which was February 1. If I booked the room in May, how am I supposed to cancel by February of the same year?!!! Needless to say....The customer service is TERRIBLE. They dont speak English well and they do not understand the issues when I explained it to them. They just kept saying, "Mmm hmm" and "ok" but did not actually help me in that situation. We will be staying in June, I hope the stay is nice and not like before.

My family and I stayed here in rooms 465 and 467 (both "Premium Room, 2 Double Beds, Fireplace") for one night in August 2026. Positives: • The location is excellent, particularly if you are visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The hotel sits right on Cannery Row next to the aquarium, making it exceptionally easy to explore the area on foot. With kids, being able to walk out of the hotel and essentially be where we wanted to be was a major advantage. • Our rooms were spacious. For a family stay, having enough room to spread out matters, and we never felt squeezed for space. • The price was reasonable, especially considering the location. Monterey hotels can get expensive, and being able to stay directly on Cannery Row without paying an outrageous premium helped compensate for some of the hotel's shortcomings. Negatives: • The rooms are badly in need of a remodel. The decor felt dated throughout, but my favorite indicator of the room's vintage was the Ethernet cables still sitting on the desk. My children examined them with fascination, as though they had discovered some sort of alien technology from an earlier civilization. When the accessories in your hotel room have become a history lesson for your children, it may be time for a refresh. • The service was mediocre and at times strangely indifferent. I approached the front desk with my family while four agents were standing behind it and only one was helping another guest. Rather than one of the other three assisting us, I was told, "It will be just a few minutes." It wasn't a major incident, but it neatly summed up the service during our stay. Nobody was particularly rude, but there wasn't much sense of hospitality either. • Breakfast at The C restaurant was forgettable. The kids were able to eat relatively cheaply, which helped, but the overall bill still somehow managed to feel expensive for what was a thoroughly unmemorable meal. Given the hotel's location on Cannery Row and the number of alternatives nearby, I would skip breakfast here next time.

We booked the premium double for 3 adults but the two beds were very small doubles and uncomfortable. Way too small for me and my wife in one of the beds.
