I am very impressed with the staff here, from the desk clerks to the maids who clean the rooms. They are all very pleasant and helpful. Some of the nicest hotel personnel I have encountered either in the states or Europe. The room was clean and comfortable also. We were here for five nights, but did not use the casino, as we were here to deal with issues related to a recent death in the family.

We have stayed at the Gold Dust Hotel and Casino on multiple occasions and every stay has been excellent. Check in is easy and quick. The rooms are huge with comfortable beds, large flat screen televisions, huge bathroom with double sinks, coffee maker and microwave. The rooms have all been in great condition with no wear showing. We are not really gamblers, but do have fun playing the video poker machines at the bar and taking advantage of the free cocktails. The restaurant is excellent and the $19 Prime Rib dinner is out of this world. I am a big guy and cannot even eat half of what they give you. You also get a free breakfast in the morning which is great. The staff is all friendly and it has convenient parking (no charge). There is also a ATM with no user fee. We will continue to stay here when we are in town and would highly recommend the place.

I stayed one night at this casino hotel while passing through Carson City on a two-month motorcycle trip. It was "meh", but there aren't a lot of choices. I also get the feeling I'm not their typical customer. I've never gambled in a casino. The woman staffing the front desk was friendly and efficient. Where I mentioned I need to do laundry she gave me the door code the laundry a short distance away in the RV Park. The laundry was clean and open 24 hours. It was $5 to wash and dry a load. Our room had a faint stale smell, possibly smoke, but 'm told I don't have the most discerning sense of smell. The beds and pillows were comfortable and it wads easy to get the room to temp I prefer. The two big issues were the three large carts filled with linens crowding the hallway. They were there when we checked and still there the next morning. It made navigating the hallway a challenge when other people were there. I did see an employee walk by them when I was coming back from my laundry room. Apparently he didn't notice or care. I've attached a photo. The other issue was next to our room was propped open numerous times with no one around. It makes key card access a moot point. Again, carts stuff with linens spent the night outside, but not in my way. The restaurant is designed for gamblers, in fact you have to go through the small casino and it's smoke to get there. Our room came with two coupons for breakfast. We ate dinner and breakfast there. It was average, but our servers were excellent ambassadors for the property. Would I stay here again? Maybe.

“First time, customer service questionable but bartender Joseph was great”

We were in the area to see a play at the Brewery Arts Center and decided to stop in to check out this casino. Upon arrival, I was assisted by Ray at guest services. He was helpful, but when he directed my family member to the next window for assistance, the representative there ignored him completely. That kind of behavior was disappointing and didn’t set a great tone for our first visit. After that, we played for over 30 minutes near the table games and keno area but didn’t receive any beverage service. Even after pressing the service light and asking a manager from the table games for help, no one came. After waiting close to 40–45 minutes, I decided to walk to the bar myself to get drinks. Thankfully, the bartender Joseph completely turned things around. He was friendly, quick, and genuinely apologetic about the lack of floor service — he explained that servers typically make rounds every 20 minutes. His professionalism and kindness made a huge difference, and because of him, we chose to stay and enjoy the rest of our evening at the bar. We later took advantage of our welcome prime rib dinner, which was a nice bonus. Even though we don’t live in the area, we’ll definitely be back — especially when Joseph is working! He’s an outstanding representative for this casino and deserves recognition for his excellent customer service - he’s a 5 star !
