We booked Fontainebleau through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts, which came with a nice stack of perks. Between the annual hotel credit, complimentary breakfast, room upgrade, early check in, late checkout, free WiFi, and a $100 property credit, the value was hard to beat. Our main reason for the trip was seeing Kenny Chesney at Sphere, but Fontainebleau ended up being one of the highlights. We've stayed at several Fine Hotels + Resorts properties over the years, and this one exceeded our expectations in every category: luxury, service, amenities, and overall experience. We also put our Resy dining credits to good use at a couple of excellent restaurants. Sure, $100 disappears quick, but free money is free money. We made up the difference with plenty of greenbacks funding my wife's collection of colorful poolside and evening cocktails. Speaking of the pool...it was fantastic. Since we visited during the week, finding lounge chairs and an umbrella was never a problem. Even with the Vegas heat, the pool stayed refreshingly cool. Whatever magic they're using, it works. We managed to eat our way through Cantina Contramar, Vida, The Tavern, El Bagel, Collins, Chez Bon Bon, and the LIV Pool. Not a single disappointment. Great food, friendly staff, and service that felt genuinely first class. We also had access to the Poodle Room, but apparently shorts and flip-flops don't qualify as upscale attire. As The Big Lebowski taught us, "The Dude abides," and in July, This Dude isn't wearing pants. My wife may have been a little disappointed, but we'll save that one for next time. Our room was on the 52nd floor, and the elevator system was one of the best I've experienced. With separate elevator banks for lower and upper floors, we never waited more than 30 seconds. Security was excellent too, with key checks at both the elevators and pool. It was efficient, friendly, and gave you confidence that only hotel guests were using the facilities. Transportation was equally painless. We never waited more than a minute or two for a taxi or Uber, and the hotel's grand entrance, highlighted by thousands of beautifully arranged roses, made a great first impression every time we returned. Check in and checkout were effortless. Both front desk associates were genuinely welcoming, and for the first time in several Fine Hotels + Resorts stays, our final bill was completely accurate without a single correction needed. I've seen plenty of online complaints about Fontainebleau being "too far" from the center of the Strip. I disagree. We loved the north end. It was quieter, less crowded, and when we wanted to visit another resort, a quick cab or Uber solved the problem. In the middle of a LV summer, walking the Strip isn't exactly on my vacation wish list anyway. Would we stay here again? Absolutely!! Fontainebleau delivered 1st class service, outstanding dining, beautiful accommodations, and a very relaxing Vegas experience.
