Good location. Seemed clean. But carpet in elevator was dirty and beyond worn out. The room was ok, but some things were just stupid. There were beds for 4 people, but only one chair despite room for at least one more person. The bathroom had one of those idiotic sliding barn doors so that opening the bathroom doorway closes the closet. There is also a catch device at the slide bar to latch the door and makes the full closure of the door horribly noisy when opening. It woke up my wife. Just stupid. The sink had a faucet set in the top right corner instead of the middle of the sink So every time you wash your hands, the counter gets splashed. The remote tv operation was maniacal and convoluted. The little fridge was not secured in the cabinet so that it slid sideways when opening it. Breakfast was typical with the miserable pre-cooked, bagged then reheated scrambled eggs. No sausage. At least there was gravy to make the eggs barely edible. Also had cereal and a few fruits along with yogurts and muffins. Not completely terrible, but not good either. Overall stay was ok, but maybe middle of the Hampton pack. Mostly small stuff that were minor irritants.

stayed 3 nights over Christmas. Room not made up at all despite request. Shade broken, reported twice, and not fixed. Heat auto shuts off when not in room so when we came back, the room was 58 degrees and took almost an hour to warm up. We were told 'that's just the way the system is'. I expe… more

stayed 3 nights over Christmas. Room not made up at all despite request. Shade broken, reported twice, and not fixed. Heat auto shuts off when not in room so when we came back, the room was 58 degrees and took almost an hour to warm up. We were told 'that's just the way the system is'. I expect better as a Hilton Honors member.

My son recently relocated to Keene, and since he had just moved in to a new house we decided to stay at Hampton Inn for our visit. I believe this was our first time staying at a Hampton Inn, and we were not overly impressed. There were certainly a number of positives: the staff was friendly and accommodating, the electronic check in/out and using the app for our room key worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom appears to have been remodeled and was fine. But there were also some things that bugged us: the entire hotel could use a makeover and a good cleaning; the carpets were worn and dirty in the elevators, hallways, and in certain parts of our room. There was trash piled on and around the trashcans by the elevators on our floor. Our room on the second floor was also fairly noisy; I had to turn off the A/C system because the loud fan kept waking us up, and on Saturday morning there was a lot of noise coming from the car dealership or whatever auto repair shop was directly behind us--I suspect it would have been quieter on the front side of the hotel. Breakfast was fine, but the staff didn't do a good job keeping up with refilling oatmeal and other items as they were used, nor did they keep up with cleaning the breakfast area as guests came and went. None of this would have bothered us too much except that the rates at this hotel are high compared to, say, a Holiday Inn Express with comparable features and amenities. I expected better.
