Janet helped me get a new room when there was discrepancy online. She was fantastic and very adamant about finding me a new room she spent over 2 hours helping me in the middle of the night. This lady needs a raise!

My sister and I stayed here for one night so we could see a special exhibit at the Albany Inst of History and Art. The hotel was clean and fresh, the staff charming and helpful, and the bedsheets were very nice. Good parking lot. It’s quite an uphill to the museum, but we were near to and tried two lovely places to eat, Viva Empanadas (many gluten free empanada options!), and The Skinny Pancake. NOTE: The handy device chargers in the bedside table didn’t work optimally so check to make sure your device is charging! I emailed the hotel about that so it may have already been fixed.

“ADA Compliant Not ADA "Functional"”

Our room was one of probably five rooms booked for an event. The first room was booked for us. I was concerned that the room had a tub instead of a shower. After the concern was raised, we were assured that every room was ADA compliant. Arrived, room had a tub. No seperate shower. The most-kind front desk agent took my number saying all rooms were booked but there were a few rooms exclusively with a shower; She'd monitor for cancelations. I swung by after dinner and she said there was a room available. So very happy. The room may have been ADA compliant but it wasn't ADA functional. There was one vertical grab bar on the long wall in the shower near the shower head. The vertical grab bar should be switched to a long grab bar running the length of the long wall. Showering would have been easier if there were vertical bars on either side of the shower door outside. Chef's kiss for bars on either side of the shower door on the inside too. Also, the shower head could have been an adjustable vertical slide bar with a wand instead of a fixed head. However, I am so very thankful to have been switched to a room with a shower. The tub would have been impossible. The first room was spotless as was the second. Quiet too. The shower water pressure was great. Very cold changed to scalding hot with the most minor adjustment. *The elevator doors were very hard to stop from closing and could EASILY cause harm to someone. The elevator doors were a topic of discussion during every elevator ride. There's a discount at the restaurant (Yono's?) for being a hotel guest.

My family of 5 stayed at this Hampton Inn for 4 nights to visit family in the area. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast area and food was very good. The woman that checked us in was extremely friendly and helpful. The valet service was great - except for the one day is was suddenly closed, so we had to retrieve our keys from the front desk. Our only issue was with the elevators. For the entire stay, only 1 elevator was in service. The second elevator was not working well, with random occasions where it would just not move off a certain floor, doors would not open with people inside, and one time being out of service completely. That is a problem when you have to climb 8 flights of stairs. The elevator repair company did come out and fix the one elevator, but it was still acting oddly and the second one was never put back in service.
