My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days while visiting NYC. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were clean. The first night I was checked in immediately to a subpar room. I will say I felt like this was the hotel’s way of getting me in a room asap to honor my Diamond status since I arrived at 2 pm and check in was at 3 pm. I messaged the front desk and it was rectified the next day. I did find some of the staff short with me, but to be honest it’s a busy hotel and I did not take it personally as they were busy and stressed trying to accommodate all the guests. Now, the elevators. Were they busy at certain times? Yes. Check in and check out. There were a lot of times there were plenty of elevators available or immediately. An issue with the elevators is that the staff use them for service for housekeeping since there is no service elevator. But that is a necessary evil to get clean towels and sheets to the rooms. Also an elevator is used for the rooftop and closes one elevator some evenings. Again, not a huge deal. I can say the most I waited for an elevator was maybe 10 min. At a busy time. Considering the hotel has 36 floors, that’s really not bad. And there are 4 working elevators. The restaurant was good and the bartenders were always friendly when I went to order food. I had to check out early to go home due to a family emergency - I was supposed to say 17 days but had to check out today. I messaged with the front desk using my Hilton app and made the arrangements to leave early. They said they would credit me my unused stay. I went down this morning and checked out and showed the screenshots of my conversation to them so they could confirm my check out and credit. The hotel is easy walking distance to Times Square and Broadway. Lots of great food choices and shopping nearby. We also did DoorDash and their system was great for that as well. The dispensary next door did not bother us since they are literally all over the city. I did not have any issue with the a/c in my room so I can’t speak to that. The hotel is a little dated and could use a facelift, but it was clean and fit our needs for the time we stayed there. Considering how busy the hotel is with the World Cup going on and just summer travel, I have to say the staff are doing a great job. As I said the hotel was clean and the staff were super helpful whenever we needed anything. The housekeeping staff were wonderful as well. Our room was cleaned almost daily. I did not use the laundry service since there is a great laundromat about a block away and we did want to wait a day to do our laundry. I went there and did two loads of laundry for less than $20 in about an hour and a half. When we left this morning I attempted to get an uber or cab to the airport but they were taking forever and the price was almost $200! The hotel bellman set us up with a very nice SUV for $100 while he saw me trying to figure out a ride. My family has been in the hospitality business in Florida and has owned hotels (Hilton’s, Marriotts, etc.) in the Tampa area for over 40 years. I grew up in hospitality and hotels so I do know the ins and outs of what it takes to run an operation as large as this one and more people should give the hotel and staff a little more grace than they do in these reviews. If you are looking for a clean and reasonable place to stay near Times Square, this is your place!
