The Hampton Inn Times Square South is a hidden gem. We spent a few days there, and everything was a pleasant surprise. When we arrived just before midnight, check-in was quick and seamless thanks to Faith, who was incredibly friendly and efficient. She explained the breakfast details and activated our digital key. The digital key feature is fast and convenient—though it requires a Hilton Honors membership, which is quick, easy, and free to set up. You can unlock your room via the app and even share the digital key with up to three other people. We were assigned a room on the 30th floor with views of various skyscrapers and the Empire State Building—what a fantastic surprise! On July 4th, we were lucky enough to have a room facing the river where the fireworks celebrating the country's 250th anniversary were held; watching them from up high was amazing. Our room was spacious and clean, equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It featured a large TV, air conditioning, a fridge, a coffee maker with all the fixings, a phone, a desk and chair, two nightstands (with sliding shelves and lamps), a safe, and a full bathroom stocked with hand soap, body lotion, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, shelves, hangers, shower caddies, and a hairdryer. One of the room's best features was the abundance of USB-A and USB-C ports. There were so many—on the nightstand lamp base, the alarm clock, the desk—plus plenty of standard power outlets throughout the room. The window had both blackout and sheer curtains and could be opened slightly for fresh air. The views were spectacular. The room also included an iron and ironing board. Add a King-size bed (2 meters wide) to the mix, and what more could you ask for? If I had to point out any areas for improvement, they would be that the TV isn't a smart TV (so you can't watch Netflix or Prime Video...), the phone in my room didn't work (though I didn't need it anyway), and the space between the bed and the large TV dresser is a bit tight. None of this detracts from the fact that the room remains comfortable, clean, and very quiet. Breakfast is included in the rate and features a buffet of hot and cold items: assorted juices (from a dispenser), coffee, cocoa powder, almond milk (though you can request other types), boiled eggs, omelets or scrambled eggs (they alternate), sausages, potatoes, toast, muffins, cereal, butter, jam, cream cheese, fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), yogurt... and best of all, the waffles made by César—the most efficient, friendly, and pleasant waiter we have ever met. He makes them himself because they turn out wonderfully, and you can add various toppings like chocolate chips or nuts; there is also chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and maple syrup (too sweet for me), along with other toppings. It’s a real highlight and a fantastic way to start the day. The breakfast room tends to get crowded during peak hours (between 9 and 10 AM), but if you go earlier, it’s usually not a problem. César is always on the lookout to find you a seat. You can also take your breakfast up to your room. The housekeeping staff are very kind and attentive, always ready to help and provide whatever you need. They are polite, discreet, and highly efficient. Alonso deserves special mention; when he is at the front desk, he helps with absolutely anything you need. He is kind, friendly, attentive, and extremely capable when it comes to any request—whether it’s arranging a taxi with a fixed price, giving directions, or recommending local restaurants. By the way, César (from the breakfast room), his colleague, Alonso, and most of the housekeeping staff are Spanish speakers, which is great. The other front desk staff are also very kind and helpful; I needed to print something, and they simply told me to email it to the front desk and they would print it for me. Finally, I would like to mention Susana McCoon—the best and most approachable hotel General Manager I have ever met. She is personable, friendly, and kind, responding quickly and efficiently to any questions you might have, whether before or during your stay. I had the opportunity to meet her in person and was impressed by her approachable manner, her kindness, and, above all, her professionalism. A perfect 10 for her and her entire team, as well as for this hotel—a hidden gem in Manhattan! We will definitely return and recommend it to family and friends whenever we can. Bravo to you all!
