“Great stay in a great location”

My husband and I enjoyed our three night stay at Hilton Club the Central at 5th. We were upgraded to a very nice one bedroom suite on the 28th floor with a view of the Empire State Building and Summit One Vanderbilt. The bedroom had a very comfortable king sized bed, nice sheets, a TV, a desk, a mini fridge, and a closet. The room had large windows with motorized sheers and blackout shades. The living room area had a sleeper sofa, a TV, coffee table, large windows with motorized shades, a mini fridge, a round dining table with four chairs, and a closet. The bathroom was large with a separate shower and tub. There are also a self cleaning toilet and heated floors in the bathroom. We loved the warm floors! We also appreciated the water bottles that were replenished during our stay. We slept very well and heard very little street noise from the 28th floor. The elevators were also very fast. The location is great for visiting Midtown and felt very safe between 5th and Madison.

A clean modern hotel in great location. Rooms are spacious and service was great. They provide bottled water and you can request as much as you need. They changed the housekeeping service to daily since Aug so that’s a plus as I had read they provided housekeeping every few days. Only con is the … more

A clean modern hotel in great location. Rooms are spacious and service was great. They provide bottled water and you can request as much as you need. They changed the housekeeping service to daily since Aug so that’s a plus as I had read they provided housekeeping every few days. Only con is the shower as there’s no shower door, the water kept seeping out. No restaurants but lots of choices in the area so not an issue for me. Definitely would stay here again.

“Nice Place to stay in Midtown, but lacks some regular Hotel Amenities.”

This is part of Hilton's Club; (basically a timeshare). They also function as a hotel. We were there as a hotel guest. The good: It is in a good location in Midtown. It is bright and clean. The room was nice. There is a small courtyard on the first floor that is against an old building. We stayed there a few days as a hotel guest. Some of the people staying there are doing so as part of the "Club" timeshare. The room prices are similar to other hotels in Manhattan. The rooms are small. They have a nice exercise room that I used a couple of times. The staff are for the most part friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the A/C, that was addressed and fixed quickly. The not so good: Maid service is spotty. They appear to be understaffed in this department. The housekeeping staff they have are very busy and work very hard. We had housekeeping service about half our stay and had to request it multiple times. There is no restaurant or bar there for regular hotel guests. On the second floor, there is an "owners" lounge inside and an outside patio. Hotel guests cannot access these. I would think there would be some access for hotel guests, either as a promotion once or twice during the stay to promote their "Club" membership; or as an add on for a fee. There is an excellent dumpling and Japanese food restaurant right across the street from the hotel called Joe's Home of Soup Dumplings. Many other places to each within a few blocks, The music in the workup room is loud, and a form of techno K-pop. You cannot turn it off or down. There are two TVs there, so if you want to watch a sporting event or other show while you work out, the sound competes. They will supply you with disposable earbuds if you ask to connect to the TV, but that won't block out the music. Overall, a reasonable place to stay if you don't need most of the usual associated amenities of a regular hotel.

We’ve stayed in several Hilton timeshares and own one in Myrtle Beach. This particular room was very small called “studio” - it was a king bed with a bathroom -no kitchenette, small refrigerator. No restaurant or bar on premises, but there’s plenty of places for food and drink in the general vicinity. The pros are that it’s very close to the Rockefeller Center area and within reasonable walking distance to Bryant Park and other attractions. The cons are that it felt more like an apartment complex than a warm, welcoming Hilton Property. I’m sure if you’re not an owner you will be pestered to attend a sales presentation.
