We had a wonderful stay at Virgin Hotels New York City! A special shoutout to Liz at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. She upgraded us to an incredible suite, which made our stay even more special. The location was perfect, with amazing views of the Empire State Building and easy access to everything we wanted to do in the city. The pool was also a great bonus and a perfect place to relax after exploring NYC. Excellent service, beautiful accommodations, and a fantastic location. I highly recommend Virgin Hotels to anyone visiting New York City and would gladly stay here again!

This Hotel was what was needed for a quick business trip into the city. This Virgin Hotel Red lobby is styled as though you were getting ready for The Devil Wears Prada's premiere. The signature Red made the hotel look stylish. Adonis & Tercelle arranged car services & suggested the best options to maximize our time in New York. This Hotel was the right location for me to get to my business meetings & watch a Broadway show on as many nights as my stay. While this location is listed as new for the Virgin Hotel chain, the shower fixtures were not as new as expected; it is evident that it's a renovated location. My room was very clean, it had a water closet, and the room wasn't large, but the space was well laid out. We had a direct view of the Empire State Building. Sushrya was very helpful with the suggestions. The gym was very clean and had enough equipment for the early risers to get in & out quickly. It is always a good thing when the staff are knowledgeable about what is going on & will inquire on your behalf. The food at their main restaurant, Everdene, is of really good quality, with enough options for pescatarians, vegans, and meat lovers alike. The servers care about your experience; they ensure that everything is to a standard. The ambiance had a modern yet eclectic New York vibe, which gave the space character. Each server knew the menu, had great suggestions, was friendly and paid attention to detail. There is also some nightlife on the top floor, which I will check out on my next trip. The only drawback is that their room service hours are quite limited for a city that never sleeps. If you want to get something after 10:00 pm sent up to your room, you are out of luck. They should have some late-night options until at least 11:00 - 11:30 pm to accommodate you, if you are leaving a Broadway play & just want a little something afterwards. The Adonis, Tercelle, and Sushrya are really helpful, the quality of the food is really good, & the location is ideal. As I mentioned, I will be returning, specifically because of the staff.

Had a good stay at Virgin hotels NYC and it was lovely to see some familiar faces from our previous visit. A special shoutout to KJ for helping us check out with our luggages with such ease.

Obviously hotel experiences are subjective so a lot of impressions are based on dumb luck. Who checks you in and explains how things work being a major factor. It shouldn't be.. but it is. First impressions count. So we got off to a less than ideal start. We arrived at about midnight after a long delayed flight (shout out to Aer Lingus) and the night check in staff didn't seem interested in much conversation or in explaining how the overcomplicated lifts work which was a bit frustrating as we were sold on the notion of "New York hospitality and friendliness". (This may have expired however). Upon working it out (shout out to a random guest), the room seemed a little "worn" - broken light switch, a bit grimy which was surprising based on how new the hotel is. Thereafter, the experience improved - the "day staff" seemed to be more helpful and engaging (although still seemed like they didn't want to be there) and we found the hotel was well situated for first time visitors navigating Manhattan. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where guests had to pay to use their own pool. Having "an hour and a half free" in the mornings and a 25% reduction from non-residents is, frankly, insulting. The pool wouldn't be there if not for the hotel. Furthermore, the staff could not comprehend why we were surprised when we were denied access to the hotels own pool despite being paying residents - they thought this was normal practice. I don't recall the website stipulating use of the hotel pool was not included in the booking price. Is this a NYC thing or just a Virgin Hotel thing? All in all, the hotel was "OK", but for the eye watering cost and the uninterested staff I expected a bit more tbh.
