I stayed at Homewood Suites Southpark for about 10 days while visiting family nearby. I stayed in a one bedroom suite, with 2 Queens since the Kings were sold out. This review is specific to Room/Suite 617. I appreciated that my room was near to the elevator, but not so close to hear anything from the hallway. My view from bedroom and living room windows was towards Southpark Mall, close enough to walk there if desired, and a great view of uptown Charlotte in the distance. I was amazed by how big this room was, like having my own apartment. If needed (and allowed by Hilton), you could sleep 6 here in the 2 Queens and pull-out couch and even have enough space for a blow up bed somewhere in this space. Many positives! The size and layout of space, including ability to cook and a full size fridge. Love Hilton's shower soap. Smells great. Good pressure and temperature in the bath/shower, though I felt perhaps an update is in order to what hotels offer now for modern bathrooms. But it was still perfectly fine and ample towels. I appreciated having a good closet to hang items since I stayed several days. I didn't use, but there was a very functional dresser. The bed was really comfortable, which matters a lot to me, and a good selection of comfy pillows. Again, I'm very particular about beds and pillows and this was great, I slept really well every night. Good black out curtains too. Re. lighting, I did move some lamps around to get better lighting where I wanted it. There's a desk, but it faces the wall. If I had really needed it, likely I would have moved that too. The living room had ample space and furniture, was comfortable, though the couch in this room may be due now or soon for replacement, well-used, starting to sink. TV's were great and I was happy with channels, but they really need better remotes. The remotes were a hassle. This is the 21st Century, their provider can provide better! I thought it was the batteries, but nothing improved when changed. Good, typical breakfast with spacious room and big windows. Surprising, good coffee at breakfast and provided in the room. Housekeeping needs to be trained on respecting when a guest has DO NOT DISTURB on the door. On two separate occasions I was walked in on and that's not really cool. Perhaps have the desk call or something if the guest doesn't hear them knock? I was surprised there wasn't a safe in the room. I'm not sure I ever stayed in a room anwhere in the world without a safe. The food was great in the restaurant when one night I had a burger and another I had a Caesar. Unexpected! Very good and friendly staff, nice bar, and lively with guests. If weather were better, the outside area with pool is really nice. Not usable in February weather! :-/ I liked also that this hotel is connected to a Hilton (I think Garden Inn?). You can easily walk to that side if you like. I appreciated the gated parking, though I'm not sure what I thought about the $10 per night fee for that. But it was definitely handy just outside the door, and a good drive up area to bring luggage in/out. I sound like I'm being negative, but this was a great stay with some frustrations I'm pointing out for Hilton to know. The very best thing about this Hotel is the incredible location in Southpark. I walked to Whole Foods, Cafe Monty, could have walked to Southpark Mall if I wanted, as well as about 50 other businesses and restaurants. Phillips Place very nearby too. I don't know if there would be a better location, frankly, if Southpark is where you want to be. I must not forget a very special call-out to Curtis at the desk. A dead-ringer for Denzel Washington, he's a transplant from NY and made coming and going enjoyable every single day with his great smile and friendly attitude. I will remember you Curtis, and perhaps see you another time! :-)

Curtis at the front desk was amazing, professional and showed commitment and dedication to his job. He made me feel comfortable and ensured that all my needs were met. I am definitely going back. Nice place to stay with wonderful rooms.
