“Not too bad for the price and location”

We reserved a room with two beds for two nights. After reading numerous negative reviews online, I was concerned that our room might be too dirty to sleep in. I tried calling several times before our arrival, left a voicemail, and even reached out on their Facebook page, but received no response. Check-in is usually at 3 pm, but when we arrived, we spoke to the front desk, and the staff was very friendly. They allowed us to check in around 1 pm. The website indicated free parking, but we paid $30 for two days. To my surprise, the room was relatively clean. However, I did notice some mold on the wall near the TV, in the shower, and on the ceiling throughout the room. I came prepared with cleaning supplies. I didn’t see any signs of bed bugs or roaches after thoroughly inspecting everywhere. The air conditioning worked, but there was a lot of noise at night. Overall, given the location and the price, I was satisfied. If you need a place near the boardwalk and aren’t concerned about amenities, this spot could work. It’s an older property that could benefit from upgrades, but the staff was very nice. Bring shower shoes.

If you’re looking for a very clean, no frills, place to lay your head for a night or few days, with an extremely friendly staff, on a budget, then I’d say this is the place to stay. That said, Booking.com says there is a microwave, fridge, desk and coffee maker in every room, we can verify the microwave & fridge but there was no coffee maker in our room nor a work table. There is an old school TV and cable box. During our stay, I stopped at the office to see about shampoo and a plastic cup, their “toiletries” consist of 2 bars of soap and was told they don’t supply cups. Other “issues” to be aware of: the only light in our rooms was a single ceiling light, lack/unusual placement of electric outlets (bring a power strip), you receive no paperwork on check in (the wifi password is posted on the office window), there was no place to hang up towels (towel bar was broken), only place to hang up clothes was the 2 hangers in the “closet” where the microwave/fridge was located, they are only placing 2 towels (softest ever) and 2 wash clothes in each room (regardless of how many in the room) and no hand towel or bathmat (however a nice young man stopped by on 2nd day and asked if we needed anything and we were given a bathmat/hand towel. Remember, this was “off-season” and yet everyone was very friendly and tried to be helpful, wanting to change our sheets after 3 nights (even though we were checking out the next day) offered to sweep the floor and did take out our trash, even grabbed an extra chair for us to sit in, to smoke and people watch. The motel is only a short walk to the beach/boardwalk and across the street is a very good carry-out. Pretty sure we will be staying there again, what we spent for 4 nights was about the same as a single night at those 5 star/beachfront hotels.
