“Amazing staff”

The hotel staff was AMAZING! They have set the bar so high I don't think any other venue will be able to match it! The staff was accommodating for all of our on-the-fly revisions (which were many) and did so with grace and sense of urgency that it required. We were there for a 2-day business meeting and catered numerous buffet meals for our guests and food was delicious. The suites were well appointed and lovely. Our meeting success was largely due in part to the hotel experience which was memorable!

“Location convenient—and noisy”

We stayed here for a long weekend while visiting family locally. In the past, we have stayed at the Hotel LeVeque, and after our recent experience at Le Meridien, I suspect we’ll return to the Hotel LeVeque on future trips. The positives: The person who checked us in was personable and welcoming, so our stay started off well. The room itself (an executive suite) was spacious, as was the bathroom, and very clean. We appreciated the convenient outlets and shelving next to the bed. Additionally, the location- in the heart of the Short North- was literally steps from a variety of restaurants. Not as positive: Our biggest dissatisfier was the noise. We’ve lived in the middle of large cities, so we’re not unaccustomed to street noise, but this was excessive and persistent throughout the night. We had requested a quiet room and ended up on the third floor overlooking High Street; we were told this was because of the class of room we booked. Loud music, constant and loud revving of cars, and even yelling from pedestrians outside, were clearly audible and continually woke us up, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. There were other areas for improvement as well. The room seemed to prioritize style at the cost of functionality: lighting was scarce, the bathroom featured the ever-annoying barn door, which blocked neither sound nor light, since it was made of frosted glass. Bath towels were thin and small, and despite the signs encouraging us to reuse our towels, there were almost no racks on which to hang them. The toilet seat and lid were connected in such a way they tended to move up and down together, one of the faucets couldn’t be turned on without hitting the mirror, and the refrigerator was essentially a minibar, so that we couldn’t add any items of our own. There were times the few valet spots at the curb stayed full for a while, so we had to circle the block several times before we could drop off our car, which was inconvenient when we returned at the end of the day. For those looking for a stylish experience and party atmosphere, this hotel may fit the bill, but for those seeking a more restful stay, especially on weekend nights, we’d recommend looking elsewhere.
