Loved this hotel! I wasn’t expecting much for the area but this place was unexpectedly perfect. Rooms felt new—they must have had a recent and comprehensive remodel. The fitness center was also large, clean and well stocked. The area felt safe and I was able to run in the neighborhood. Breakfast was better than average, and the location was excellent—right off the highway and 10 minutes north of Cedarville University. If my daughter decides to go to this school, I will be staying at this Hampton every time I visit.

“This Hampton Inn Saved Me in a Travel Nightmare!”

As I drove from Cleveland to Indianapolis, I developed horrible stomach flu (I'll spare the details but, suffice it to say, I vomited in a ditch along busy I-70!!). I was too sick to keep driving when I remembered my friend said there was a nice Hampton Inn in Springfield. There I was, 5 miles from Springfield! I had the best room--very clean, softest cushiest bed, every bathroom amenity, quiet hallway. But I needed help--too sick to leave my room--so I called the front desk, got Rayven who said she'd pack up ice for me, and here she came in five minutes with not only a small bag of ice for me but snack food for "when you feel better." She brought cups, an apple, banana, bag of salty chips, and a water bottle. Told me she would be at the front desk until 11 p.m. and to call with anything I needed. She was sooo kind! (Thank you, Rayven! I really needed your help!) Also, a shout-out to Shenise at the front desk who checked me in and out and knew I'd been so sick. She's a smiling face and so nice! Thank you, Hampton, for a really accommodating stay! I so appreciated the amenities and great customer service!

We needed a place to stay while visiting Cedarville University. This was a great option. First, if you click on the hotel from the Cedarville website, the discount is already included in the rate! Very convenient and affordable. The room was fresh, clean, and ready for us. They provide not just soap, shampoo, and conditioner, but also moisturizer. The hooks on the walls are a nice touch, great for jackets and hoodies to grab just before heading out. The location was great. It was just off the highway and we could walk to a Cracker Barrel. The breakfast was perfect combining all the favorite proteins with standard carbs. I did not make my own waffle, but did help myself to plenty of crispy bacon. I tipped several times using the QR codes they have stationed around. Everyone was super nice and helpful!

Overall, our two-night stay at the Hampton Inn Springfield demonstrated what one has come to expect in a Hampton. Basically: a clean and comfortable stay, no surprises, and ensuring that the basics expected were well executed. That said, there were a few negatives that I’ll spell out below. Negatives. There was some noise both from adjoining rooms and the housekeeping crew hollering back and forth for 30 minutes or so regarding guests and other topics in the hallways. Breakfast could only be termed adequate; an increasingly common affliction at Hamptons. Come on, Hilton; at least restore the cut fruit! On the plus side, there was never a serious wait for an elevator car to arrive. And, all of the staff members – even those aforementioned loud housekeepers – were personable and helpful on the few occasions during which we interacted. In summary, given the rates paid, our overall judgement is that it represents a good value in the Springfield, Ohio area, and warrants our overall five-star rating.
