My recent stay at the Courtyard Marriott Northwest in Oklahoma City was a mixed experience. Stephanie at the front desk made a fantastic first impression with her welcoming and friendly demeanor. Despite the hotel being extremely short-staffed, she was knowledgeable and accommodating, ensuring we felt well taken care of during our stay. The lobby was a highlight, featuring a nice, open, and modern design that created a pleasant atmosphere. However, the condition of the carpet throughout the hotel left something to be desired, as it was in need of either replacement or a deep clean. The beds were okay, but it's clear that they are nearing the end of their lifespan and will soon need new mattresses for optimal comfort. The hotel's location is convenient, being close to the Oklahoma City Zoo and the Science Museum. Additionally, it’s within walking distance of Chick-fil-A and McDonald's, which is handy for quick meals. One significant drawback was the ice machines, almost all of which were out of order during our stay. This was quite inconvenient and detracted from the overall experience. Overall, while the Courtyard Marriott Northwest has some positive aspects, particularly the excellent service from staff like Stephanie and the modern lobby, it also has areas that need attention, such as the carpet and mattresses. The location is great for visiting nearby attractions, but improvements are needed to make it a more comfortable stay.

First, the positive--the staff was very kind and helpful, particularly KeAndrea at the front desk and Willy, who helped with group breakfasts. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Now, unfortunately, some negatives to share with the precursory statement that we have been a Marriott family for over 30 years and have stayed in hundreds of their hotels, both for business and pleasure. This Courtyard was one of the worst Marriott properties we've ever stayed in. There were several out-of-service/missing items--ice makers, washer/dryer, keyless entry doors into the building and other areas--that seemed to be awaiting attention during the entirety of our 5 day trip. Despite being a smoke-free building, my teenager and I woke up to the strong smell of marijuana on our floor two of the nights and smelled it regularly in the hallways during the daytime. The workout area was very small, missing several pieces of equipment and was extremely dirty. Though not the fault of the property, the area where the hotel is located did not feel very safe (some in our party witnessed several police cars addressing an issue in the hotel late one night) and construction was prevalent. When we've had good stays or experiences with Marriotts, I enjoy leaving positive comments. I felt compelled to leave this less-than-stellar review to let the management of this hotel know that we expect more of Marriotts--please do better!
