“Some good features but not a good value”

We stayed one night on the long drive up to Portland from San Francisco. The price was quite high for level of the property. Husband pointed out this was "high season" for summer vacation so just be aware it will be expensive in the summer. PROS * very clean * very large rooms * friendly staff * updated large bathrooms (although the sink is outside of the bathroom so you have to turn on the light to brush your teeth or otherwise use the sink and then it wakes up the other people in the room). * Good quality towels * enough parking * Quiet, adequate sound proofing CONS * The rugs needs replacing in the rooms or a heavy cleaning * The counters in the bathroom are plastic, not stone, so scarred from heavy use. * The breakfast was horrible - EVERYTHING comes wrapped in plastic. No hot food. Danishes, bagels, etc. Although this made sense during COVID times, now they should just serve normal food. * Weak coffee, they are skimping or using a low quality brand. I could understand if this was a Motel 6 but at these prices they are really taking advantage of the lack of choices in Klamath Falls. * not enough seating in the breakfast area on Saturday at 8:30 am - we took it back to our rooms * The furniture was well used and had visible scars from heavy use I'll look at other options in Klamath Falls and only use this hotel if nothing else works.

“Don’t bother”

At first glance, we thought that this hotel was okay. However, the restaurant no longer exists and while it was a busy weekend, only one clerk was working. We had a lamp that wouldn’t work. My husband called the front desk only to be told that the lightbulbs were locked up, she had no key, no maint… more

At first glance, we thought that this hotel was okay. However, the restaurant no longer exists and while it was a busy weekend, only one clerk was working. We had a lamp that wouldn’t work. My husband called the front desk only to be told that the lightbulbs were locked up, she had no key, no maintenance personnel and was working alone. It seems like Shilo threw all of these nicer hotels up in the ‘90s then just left them to rot. The decor has never been updated, the carpets are stained and dingy, furniture also grubby. They can and should do better. We will avoid Shilo Inns in the future.
