“Great location, fabulous service and amenities.”

Excellent choice for my first visit to Philadelphia. Check in was an issue at first, with our room not ready when we arrived at 6:15 PM. Excellent choice for my first visit to Philadelphia. Check in was an issue at first, with our room not ready when we arrived at 6:15 PM. After checking back at 6:45, I learned that they were preparing an upgraded suite for us, I passed on the suite and instead took a lovely, clean and bright king room on the 23rd floor close to the concierge lounge. That feature was nice, but it does close for the weekend beginning at 10 AM on Friday. However, the complementary buffet breakfast they offer in the restaurant instead on weekends was FABULOUS. Incredible service, wide selection of fruits, yogurts, fresh baked goods, and a custom station for omelets and eggs. Location of the hotel was good for us. We walked to the historic sites, along the Delaware river trail, and to fabulous restaurants around Rittenhouse Square. We didn’t need a rental car as it’s a great walking or uber location. Also right across from Reading Market, which is definitely worth a visit for a meal or snack. The fitness center is well equipped and necessary after all the good food we consumed!

Stayed here for 2 nights on business in mid March 2026 - 1 king bed. I chose this hotel due to the location of my meetings (next door at the Conv Ctr) and the fact that this is a Bonvoy property. Currently Bonvoy platinum (Hilton Diamond). Positives: -Excellent location in Philly. Adjacent to the Convention Center. Next door to Reading Terminal Market (excellent choices for lunch). Less than 2 blocks from City Hall, and a very short walk to good restaurants and bars down 12th and 13th streets. Convenient enclosed walkway over to the Convention Center Ctr from the hotel. -the Hotel is LARGE. I think largest in Philadelphia. Vast lobby area and a large lobby bar with plenty of seating. -Large hotel also had an appropriately sized fitness center. A good number of cardio machines. Towels were provided along with a water filtration system. And in terms of fitness, a jog to the Art Museum steps and down past Boathouse Row roundtrip was about 5 miles. -Seems like fewer and fewer Marriotts have Club lounges. The Philly Marriott did have one on the 23rd floor, and it was very good. Had a nice variety of choices for breakfast along with hot/cold apps in the evening. Lounge had a nice view of Market Street. -Room was ok size (especially for a large city hotel). Room had a few drawers in the console table and a decent sized closet with plenty of hangers for clothes (many hotel now don’t have any furniture with drawers and very few hangers int he closet. I guess they want guests living out of their suitcases). -Good number of outlets and charging ports on the night stands. Also, the king bed was very comfortable. Mattress was just the right amount of firmness, and the pillows were nice and soft/fluffy. Bad: -A lot of construction in the lobby entrance. This wasn’t a major issue but it’s also the 1st thing you see when you arrive. -Asked for any platinum upgrades, and the front desk said the hotel was sold out. I checked the apps and saw plenty of rooms available for the length of my stay and most were a category upgrade. I sense the clerk just didn’t want to look for me. -Service at the lobby bar was SLOW and not very friendly. Had to wait a while to get a drink, and when the bartender finally did come over, he was NOT in a good mood. -Worst part of the stay - the bath in my room. Specifically the shower. Just a horrible layout. While it looks nice (glass enclosed, handheld option, etc) the ergonomics were terrible. 1st, the shower is WAY too narrow. I am a normal sized guy (5’10”, 170 lbs). I could barely stand side-to-side in the shower. No idea how a larger person can fit in the shower. Add to that the placement of the shower toiletries - they were right next to where the shower was - this further reduced the width of the shower. And to make it even worse, there was a small metal shelf under the soap/shampoo dispenser that stuck out 3-4 inches making the shower that much more narrow. The water pressure in the shower was very light, so you had to stand directly under the shower head. That added to the location of the soap/shampoo dispenser along with the narrow shower made for a very unpleasant experience. The hotel needs to move the location of the dispensers and shelf to the wall opposite the shower. While this won’t make the shower any wider, it will provide more room under the shower head. -Pool was closed and apparently is not reopening. The hotel claims there was a lack of use, so keeping it open was not cost effective. Unfortunate, b/c it’s a great way to get in a workout if the weather is bad.
