Old hotel with tons of character & charm! Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We received clean towels and coffee everyday without having to ask for it.

I had two rooms booked for a very busy local college graduation weekend. I knew my college kid needed to meet in this hotel so I booked for the convenience factor. I called the week before to ask if the two rooms could be connected or atleast near each other. I was told no problem. The day of check in the hotel called me to confirm I needed both rooms, they were checking to make sure it wasnt a mistake. I asked again about connecting rooms and they told me yes, both rooms are next to each other in a corner. Great! The check in process was slow plus long lines. We were given room 810 and 812. We got to our room but only one key card worked. The other kept flashing red. So we went back down and they kept questioning us if we were using the key card correctly. They re-set the card and we went back. Key was still not working and then someone from inside the screamed saying stop trying to get in!!! Once again we went back down. I went straight up to the person at the desk to tell him he gave us a room that was already occupied! he continued to take other people in front of us because the line was so long yet we had already waited on that long line to be given a room that was already occupied. He didn’t know how that was possible that the room was already occupied, but apparently the woman in that room had asked to extend her stay, but in the system, it said that she had checked out. He then had to find us a new second room, which was now on floor 4. The room on the eighth floor had an extremely tiny bathroom. And extremely stained carpet. The room on the fourth floor did not smell good but at least the bathroom was a standard size. Breakfast was included, which was nice except they were way understaffed for the amount of people at the hotel that weekend. The hotel definitely has a uniqueness to it. And is under some construction. There was nothing supernatural going on the eighth floor like we read on the Internet. I had another family member stay under their own reservation, which was on the second floor of the motel style building attached to the hotel. Nice in theory, except everyone on that outside balcony was smoking and drinking outside of their room looking over the unopened pool. So they had to constantly walk through smoke to get to their room.
