We try to come down yearly as we love the area! PBSR is in an excellent position to enjoy all the area has to offer. We love being so close to the beach! Just a boardwalk jaunt from the pool area to the beach. If you’re not an owner, don’t expect to be in an updated room. The rooms aren’t bad, but could be more comfortable. The furniture is worn. It has most of what you need to prepare some meals in your room. The Islander Restaurant is very handy. It has good food and very good pizza. Is it the nicest place we’ve stayed, no. Will we stay here again? Yes!

We spent a week here in August with our family of four and had a genuinely good trip. Palm Beach Shores is an older property — comfortable and fairly well maintained, though dated in spots — sitting right on the beach on Singer Island. It's not one of the luxury Marriotts up and down the road, and it doesn't charge like one either; for an affordable oceanfront week with the family, it delivered real value. The layout is a single six-story building wrapped around a pool courtyard that opens to the ocean. Views vary a lot depending on where your unit sits — even-numbered units face inside toward the pool and ocean, odd-numbered ones face outside, and some at the back look over the parking lot. We had a fourth-floor unit with a pool-and-ocean view that we were very happy with. The unit was comfortable and well stocked, with a larger-than-expected bathroom (two sinks, a shower, and a separate tub) and a small but functional kitchen. The beach out front is the real draw — direct access and warm summer water, with only light, manageable seaweed during our stay. A vendor rents chairs and umbrellas, but the beach is public, so we walked our own gear a short way and set up for free. The pool, tiki bar, and on-site Islander Grill anchor the courtyard, with a fair happy hour and live music in the evenings. There's also a strip mall of shops and restaurants right across the corner, which makes the location easy to enjoy without driving everywhere. A few notes: it's an older, clean resort, so expect some wear here and there, and the hot tub was closed during our stay. We also had a couple of episodes of yellow water in the shower — worth knowing this seems to be a local Singer Island water-system issue rather than something specific to this resort, as the same thing gets reported at other properties on this stretch of beach. None of it kept us from having a great week, and the staff were quick and friendly whenever we flagged anything. We came the first week local schools were back, which meant warm water and pleasantly thin crowds — a nice quiet window. For a family looking for an affordable, laid-back week right on the ocean, Palm Beach Shores is an easy place to recommend, as long as you go in knowing it's a comfortable older resort rather than a luxury one.
