My family and I enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Express. Orville and Stephanie went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. Small requests like extra towels were never a problem. We were always greeted with friendliness and professionalism. That made us feel comfortable the minute we set foot on the property. Even when parking was full, Stephanie offered the main drive-thru greenspace as a makeshift parking space until the morning. When you're tired from a long family road trip, customer service accommodations upon arrival really matter. Our rooms were very clean and reasonably sized. I loved the location being at the intersection of Pope Ave and S Forest Beach Drive. My husband and I enjoyed taking the morning and afternoon bike rides in both directions. The pool area was a fairly sized and filled with families. We also appreciated how close the hotel was to Coligny Plaza and Lowcountry Celebration Park. Being adjacent to the latter made it the true definition of family-friendly. Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing, clean, and beachy. I'm glad the kickoff to our family vacation was spent here.

We stayed here for a single night recently. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. It far exceeded our expectations. And that was to a large extent due to warm welcome and the friendly reception we received as we were checking in. Credit for our experience goes to the kind lady who served us. The smile and attitude of Ms Sonia King set the tone for the rest of our stay. Sonia deserves special recognition for being an outstanding Ambassador for IHG as also particularly the Holiday Inn Express at Hilton Head Island. The bedroom was adequately sized and well furnished. The bed and pillows allowed restful sleep. The bathroom and shower area was well lit. There was plenty of running hot water. The microwave as well as the provision of a Keurig coffee maker in the room showed the attention being paid to detail in providing an outstanding traveller experience. The complimentary buffet breakfast was varied while being wholesome too. Again, an impressive array - cooked oats, DIY pancakes, Danish pastry, muffin, eggs done three ways, turkey sausage, fresh fruit - apples and bananas, freshly ground, brewed coffee, yogurt and milk, choice of three cereals etc. (Availability of non-dairy milk would have added that extra special touch). One can say in all honesty that the buffet breakfast on offer here was far superior to other HI Express hotels that we have used in the past. The entire building is clean and spotlessly maintained. That is a testament to all the staff. They can all be proud of their work making for a great guest experience. There is ample space for parking, both covered and in the open air as also provision for EV charging. One would suggest that free parking be allowed for registered guests instead of the punitive $10 per diem, even if the daily rent were to be increased. This place has definitely set the bar high and will prove to be a challenge for other IHG brands, and especially for HI Express hotels to try to attain or surpass.

“Good hotel”

Good hotel in nice location (just 5-10min walk from the beach). Hotel was renovated few years ago and rooms are in general good condition. Just the breakfast room is far too small for this size of hotel.

This stay was average overall, with some positives and some notable frustrations. Check-in staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room itself was decent, though on the smaller side. The location is a big plus—very close to the beach, which made getting around easy and convenient. Unfortunately, the experience was impacted by extremely loud neighbors with multiple children who were very disruptive in the evening, both in the hallway and in their room. Noise was a significant issue during the stay. The included breakfast was decent and met expectations for a Holiday Inn Express. EV charging was available on-site, which was appreciated, but execution was lacking. One charger was unusable because another guest left an adapter locked in place, and despite notifying staff, this was not resolved before our departure. Of the remaining chargers, the one I used (only other one available) did not provide sufficient amperage, so my vehicle did not actually charge overnight despite being plugged in. Additionally, although I was granted a late checkout until noon, housekeeping knocked on our door three separate times to rush us out. Each time, I explained that we had approval for late checkout, yet the interruptions continued, which was frustrating and unnecessary. Overall, this hotel has a great location and friendly front-desk staff, but noise issues, EV charger problems, and poor coordination around late checkout made this a 3-star experience for me.
