“Clean hotel room, but many little issues that will have me looking elsewhere”

I chose this hotel because most of the ones with decent ratings were around the same price, and have never stayed at this chain before. After staying one night, I will have reservations about staying here again. The only good things: * the room is very clean * it is very quiet and had no issues with noise from airplanes or anything else, and the fridge noise was negligible * wifi is adequate, and allows use of VPN (I have been to some hotels where VPN is blocked from use) The bad things: * parking cost extra $10/day, but they do not give you anything to display on your car, so I am not sure how they actually keep track. Just be sure to check the invoice, because I have seen comments at other hotels where they either charge incorrectly or they send you to collections because they think you did not pay. * shower door was really squeaky * thermostat does not go above 74 F; I called the front desk, and they gave a solution, but it did not work but it was 2am and I needed to sleep. So the room is freezing cold the whole time, especially the shower room * I think I ended up in an accessible room or something, because the toilet and the counter were both really low I think Marriott only treats its business people well, because they can tack on whatever charges they want, and the company will pay it without too much concern, and all the regular people get treated like bottom of the barrel.

More modern Fairfield property. More modern Fairfield property. No acknowledgment of being a Platinum member until I mentioned if there was any upgrade available (there wasn’t), then received two bottles of free water and one muesli bar. Breakfast good. Pool lovely as heated unlike many other Marriott properties. Object to paying $10 US per day parking especially as a Platinum (now Titanium) when you’re in suburbia and there are plenty of parks. Reception asked if we had a car and I said ‘yes’ but they did not ask for registration or give me pass for dashboard. What if I had said ‘no I don’t have a car’? Would have likely been a freebie then.Would have queried parking charge on checking out but no one at front desk. First Marriott property where no USB charging ports by bed or in clock. One port in room hardly sufficient for two people with multiple devices. Wifi poor, kept dropping out.
