We called needing a room for one night only. The gentleman that answered was so helpful and very courteous ! We arrived and the lobby was grand and welcoming! Our room was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the en-suite had private labeled shampoo and lotion! The next morning, we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast that was top notch! Offered a wide variety from waffles, eggs, to yogurt, cereal Dining room was very sophisticated. They are located on beautiful land that over looks a creek where deer are present at times. This hotel is highly recommended!

Handicapped room at Inn on Baron’s Creek My friend who is 93 and myself, who is 90 made a trip to Fredricksburg this week. Through the years, I have made many trips to Fredricksburg. On several trips, including this trip, have stayed at Inn on Baron’s Creek. I reserved a ‘handicapped’ room at The Inn on Baron’s Creek in Fredricksburg for this trip. Let me tell you about my ‘handicapped’ room. First, the hallway had 9 rooms and our ‘handicapped’ room was the 7th room down the hallway - meaning from the elevator, we had to walk the length of the hall. Most places, the handicapped rooms are near the elevators, meaning fewer steps. Being ‘handicapped’ generally means walking is difficult. Nine rooms down the hallway and we were in the seventh room. I give the Inn a failing mark for this inconsideration. Second, the bathroom. The bathroom had two grab bars near the toilet and three around the tub. Around THE TUB - meaning no shower. The step into the tub was near 20 inches. Being ‘handicapped’ generally means steps are difficult. There was no way either of us could use the tub. So again, I give the Inn a failing mark for this inconsideration. Third, the floor carpet was ruffled. We were almost afraid to walk across the floor. Older people are very prone to fall, and uneven carpet is a disaster waiting to happen. So, again, a failing mark for the Inn. Fourth, the closet. I could not reach the closet rod. My friend, a couple inches taller, had to help me get my clothes out of the closet every day. So, again, a failing mark for the Inn. Fifth, not handicapped related, but bathroom door would not close. Poor maintenance for a supposedly nice hotel. All in all not a pleasant experience for $156 plus tax per night. Don’t rent a handicapped room at the Inn and expect handicapped help. I was very disappointed and aggravated with our room. Frankly, I don’t know how our room could qualify as a ‘handicapped’ room.

Everything about this hotel was acceptable. However, it urgently needs refreshing. The worst part of our stay was the noisy wall air conditioning unit in Room 204. We slept fitfully for two nights. The furniture was dated, wallpaper peeling off, etc., etc. The breakfast was OK but each morning the hot dishes were barely lukewarm and never got refilled. I’m sure there are nicer places for your money in the Fredericksburg area.
