We stayed here the night before departing on a cruise out of Galveston. Honestly, I thought I was booking the other Galveston La Quinta (West Seawall), which we'd stayed at before (and really liked), but I booked this one by mistake. For this particular location: Front desk personnel were very friendly. Don't park below the hotel before checking in, otherwise, it's a hike to get up to the lobby (no access to stairs or elevator without room key). The bathtub was so slick, I had to put a towel in the tub to stand on to keep from slipping while showering. It needed a non-slip tub mat. I can't see how someone hasn't fallen / gotten hurt in these showers! It was a new hotel and looked nice, but once inside the room, it was apparent that corners had been cut - i.e., done on the cheap. The first room we were sent to had a non-functioning A/C, so we had to change rooms.

Pros: Large room and the hotel location. Refrigerator in the room, king bed, spacious sofa, desk, and space to open suitcases. Pros: Large room and the hotel location. Refrigerator in the room, king bed, spacious sofa, desk, and space to open suitcases. Now for the negatives: Upon arrival in the room: no shower gel, no soap, and a towel with (ink?) stains. We received new towels at the reception, but that's to be expected to be provided for in the room -The ice machine next to the room makes a lot of noise! ​​We were offered to switch rooms, but the other room was musty, so we stayed anyway. Hotel seesm to know about the problem but they dont fix it. We did not get a good night of sleep because of the noise, really awful buzzing and banging. -The Wi-Fi wasn't working. The receptionist says it's Wyndham's fault, not theirs, and goes to talk to a colleague about something else. Not customer-friendly! -There's glass in the parking lot (car window? Burglary?) -Overflowing trash bins at breakfast that no one empties. -There are clumps of sand in the hallway, and it just stays there. -The general attitude of the hotel seems somewhat disinterested. We feel it was too expensive for what we got with too many flaws. No, unfortunately we would not recommend this hotel. There are better options in this price range.
