The Red Rood North was only 2 miles from DDW and had a restaurant just across the parking lot. It was very clean, modern, and beds were comfortable. I booked it because there was a good priced parking/hotel package, and a shuttle that ran from 3:30 am on, handy for an early morning International flight. Service was friendly and the grounds well kept and clean. The hotel and a couple of others next to it were about as close as you can get to the airport so it was a quick trip in the morning.

“A Few Issues, But Met Expectations”

This was a very short, horse hauling trip for us. We were coming from south of Houston with our horse trailer in tow. We left after 6 p.m. because my wife had meetings and couldn't leave work early. That means we were going to get in very late and we were going to have to leave very early to pick up our horse from nearby Lone Star Park. The hotel was easy to get to on the 183 feeder. It is obviously an older, rebranded hotel which just about every Red Roof Inn is. We appreciated that at 12:10 a.m., there was still full access to the lobby and a desk clerk on duty. The lobby was nice enough. The clerk was a bit of a dud. He just didn't have much of a customer service personality. I suppose that happens sometimes with the late night shift. I asked for a first floor room which the clerk agreed to give me. When I told him we had a pet, the answer changed. I had to ask him for two keys...just stuff he should be on top of. We were put at the very back of the hotel, which was fine. There weren't many cars back there which made me wonder why he wouldn't give me a downstairs room. We were just glad to be at the hotel and we we felt blessed when we found abundant parking and a perfect place to park our trailer. The parking lot was very well lit and we could see our horse trailer from the room. We got into the room and it was very hot. We turned on the wall unit AC which was hard to operate because all of the setting labels had worn off the unit. It took about two hours, but the room did cool down. I think all of the pet owners end up in the back part of the hotel because there were other dogs back there. Not a ton of grass, but enough to walk our dog to relieve herself. The room had a noticeable smell of smoke, but not a strong smell. It's almost like it gets imported from the AC unit when people are smoking outside their rooms. The biggest bonus for us was the cleanliness of the room and not a single bug. No alarm clock and the bathroom door would not close. Not a huge deal for us. The microwave and mini fridge both worked well. There were a lot of premium channels on the big, flat screen TV. My wife enjoyed her hot shower and the great water pressure. There was a good bit of trash on the fence side of the parking lot that needs to be picked up. We left the hotel at around 5:45 am. There is a Walmart next door that I believe you can walk to around the front side of the hotel. There were a bunch of work truck type vehicles around the hotel and that's the clientele that probably stays here often. We were comfortable with the other guests. The hotel met our expectations for a short stop, budget hotel. We love that they let our pet stay free. We will stay here again when we are back in town. We would love to leave a five star review if they can take of the few issues we mentioned.

I recently stayed at Red Roof Inn Dallas/Fort Worth and unfortunately, my experience was not great. The room had a strong musty and cigarette odor, which made it uncomfortable. The overall feel of the hotel gave off a sense of insecurity, which added to my discomfort during the stay. The only positive aspect of my visit was the shower – it had great water pressure, and that was a pleasant surprise. However, the hotel does not offer breakfast, and the only thing available is coffee in the lobby, which felt very limited. Another positive point was the convenient airport shuttle service, which was helpful. Given the issues with the smell, security concerns, and lack of amenities, I would not stay at this hotel again.
