We may have been the first ones into our room after its renovation - everything was spotless, and we had to prime all the toiletry-bottle pumps. I was disappointed that the old 5-gallon-tank toilet remained, and that was a missed opportunity for improvement. Beds were small (two doubles) but comfortable. The height-adjustable table was a nice addition, as it allowed me a workspace with a lower height. The value was excellent, even though we had the "stay to play" rate for a sports tournament. Our room faced the freeway, but we had no issues with noise. The pool area looks nice, though our schedule did not allow us time to enjoy the pool.

The room had everything I needed for this business trip and was cleaned daily. I found a comfortable area to connect prior to and post-work. My stay was 1.5-weeks and even cleaning always had kind words when I'd depart daily. While it's true the hotel may have certain aspects of it's last renovations--it's important to note that the hotel is step-by-step upgrading (which is a lengthy process as this will be ongoing whilst they remain in operations). Comfortable beds and dark curtains to make sure light stays out. It got chilly one morning and I was surprised to find my room well-heated. Everything was in proper working order and maintenance (if needed) was handled with care. I must mention Dee at the front desk who'd work the evening shift. She checked me in with my boss. Dee would greet me every evening asking, "how's your day going Mr. Dan". Dee and many others showed the professional, kind and welcoming spirit of the Sheraton Brookhollow and worthy to represent the brand. I took advantage of the restaurant and enjoyed the food from the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was fresh and quality kept throughout the morning. I was given some vouchers as well. The Sheraton Club (I was on floor 9) was a peaceful place to unwind. The gym was quaint but well equipped. I'm not a pools person but I did include pictures of it as if makes a great compliment to the hotel. There's much more I could write but I'd probably take more time and words than I could without making it sound too embellished. Therefore, I'll say that if you're looking for a hotel near downtown Houston, close to businesses, restaurants, stores and with top quality staff/service; this will make a great home away from home for you. The staff is outstanding. Friendly, efficient, and genuinely focused on the guest experience. Marriott should prioritize investing in a refresh. The Sheraton sign is not fully illuminated, the room furnishings feel dated, and the lobby could use an update. Making these improvements would likely drive higher occupancy and more repeat business. That said, the team does a great job compensating for the property’s age. The beds are comfortable, the hotel feels safe, and the buffet is enjoyable. The price is a true bargain, and the concierge level is a definite added benefit. I would stay here again. The nearby freeway was not an issue for noise, and the hotel itself was quiet, which matters a lot to me. Given the unique location and limited direct competition, it is surprising this has not already been remodeled and refreshed. Housekeeping also did an excellent job each day. Hats off to a really neat team of great people!
