The most wonderful getaway right in the middle of the hill county. We look so forward to our annual trip each year! The vibe is very laid back but there's also plenty to do if that's what you're looking for. The golf is one of the best courses in the country. Each fairway is cut as close as the greens and beautifully maintained. Very green even in the middle of the summer. We went when it was 110 but still enjoyed every aspect from golf to the lazy river to toasting smores at night! The rooms are immaculate. Beds and pillow selection is super comfy. The entire property is spotless. Cannot recommend enough. Even with children running around, we couldn't hear a thing in our room or when we took walks!

Note: Globalist status. Recently, we had a large family gathering at Lost Pines. Ages were mainly 30s-40s adults with children ages 1-11. There were approximately 30 of us in total, which made it challenging for the hotel understandably. Overall, the experience was very good. It really was the perfect place for a large family gathering with young children, and we would come back to Lost Pines again in the future. Prior to our arrival, I notified the hotel and had regular communication with Gabriella G. who specializes in large bookings. She was SO HELPFUL, providing us with options, linking reservations, and helping with arranging our rooms in close proximity. She also helped me make a booking for the cabana and provided a discount, which was not expected and gracious. Cabana - specifically the Hummingbird Lagoon - was perfect for a large family with multiple young children - some who could not swim. You have your own private server to run drinks and food for you. We had Kenly, who is currently a trainee, but handled the family like a PRO. We were very grateful we had her for our two cabana experiences. There is a shallow lagoon area which feeds into the lazy river, so care is needed in watching the young ones. But it gave them an uncrowded place to play and plenty of shade, space, and a location to make home base. Rooms - Well appointed, basic, clean rooms as expected for this level of Hyatt Activities - Plenty. Bikes, animal encounters, s'mores, movie nights. If you want to book certain activities, I recommend an early booking because things fill up quickly Restaurants - Here is where I had small disappointment in the service. In large part, the service was AMAZING across the board. Specific shoutout to Emily at Maude's who we descended upon unexpectedly, Tiffany who took care of us at breakfast 2/3 days and did not bat an eye, Maria at the omelette station, and Jill the Heartwood house manager who helped arrange our all you can eat BBQ buffet reservation. All three of these employees helped us with smiles, kindness, and great service. The breakfast buffet is expansive. We did experience some irritation from hostess staff at Heartwood House and one server who didn't clear plates or bring coffee without being asked. I think he knew there was a guaranteed gratuity on the bill. I'm fully aware that it is hard to plan for and take care of our large group, which is why I'm calling out specific people for making us feel like we weren't the most annoying people on property, even though we were! Globalist experience - Yeti welcome mug was nice surprise. No room upgrades, but understandable. They were very busy. Got late checkout for 12 PM, but otherwise nothing available for typical 4 PM globalist checkout. Again, understandable.

We recently returned from a two-night stay. It was our second visit to this resort. Overall we enjoyed our time, but several aspects of the experience were disappointing. The property itself is beautiful and offers a variety of family-friendly activities. We booked a suite, which was spacious, and had a lovely view of the pond. Areas for Improvement: - The air-conditioning unit was extremely loud and woke me every time it turned on. I am not a light sleeper, yet it woke me almost every hour in the middle of the night. I did not sleep well during either night of our stay. - Although our reservation clearly indicated three adults, the suite was stocked with only two coffee mugs and two glasses. There was also no bar soap in the room, only body wash. We requested bar soap from both the front desk and housekeeping, but none were provided. - The resort offers many activities, but the scheduling could have been communicated more clearly. We asked for a brochure from the concierge when we arrived on Saturday, but no one explained that some activities were available only on specific days. When we tried to book one the following day, we learned that it was offered only on Saturdays and that we had already missed it. - Dining availability was another concern. Restaurant choices were already limited, and two of the restaurants were closed on Sundays, leaving basically just one restaurant serving full dinner entrees. This is a beautiful property, and we appreciated its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. However, at more than $2,000 for a two-night stay, we expected a higher standard of service, better communication, and more thoughtful amenities.
