“Great Amenities and dog friendly!”

Awesome amenties and very dog friendly! Loved all about this hotel and the room except I could plainly hear conversations my neighbors were having and was awaken a couple times.

If you are looking for a quick retreat along the northern California's coast, the Timber Cove Resort provides very nice accommodations with spectacular views. My hotel room was nice. If you are looking for a quick retreat along the northern California's coast, the Timber Cove Resort provides very nice accommodations with spectacular views. My hotel room was nice. But the view off the balcony was amazing. I ate at the on-site restaurant. The food was overall very good. Though if you are expecting a northern CA, wine country foodie experience, then you may be disappointed. The meals are a bit pricy, but I expected that being fairly remote. The staff was friendly and courteous.

So, the atmosphere at the Timber Cove is amazing. Beautiful coastal location, wonderful common spaces at the lodge. Super fun game collection and old school record player with some vinyl to choose from in every room. Unfortunately, high winds on the day we were there kept us from exploring the grounds much, but the small amount we did experience was just lovely. Outdoor firepits, s'mores provided by the hotel, fun outdoor games like chess and jenga all make it a really nice community feel. We had cocktails and a couple "smalls" in the Great Room bar seating, and they were all good. We would have liked more choices of shareable plates. The room we had was nice, but felt overpriced. The bed was comfy, the shower fine. It all felt clean and well-maintained. But there were a couple small quirks that were just a little irritating. Like we had a "cove view" king that you could only see said cove from the balcony, which we couldn't use because of the weather. There was no privacy curtain, so your choices were the blackout, or sleeping in full view of anyone walking up the cliff path. Which we found out because I opened an eye to see strangers walking 6 feet from the bed I was in. There were only two towels. Wine glasses but not bottle opener. All small things, but when you're paying such a huge premium for the room, they all add up to "meh". Regardless, we will likely be back, although likely it will be off-season to offset the price.

TLDR: the room and environment was wildly mismatched for its $700 price point. Long story: We arrived and were shown our $580 room, which absolutely tiny, no room to walk around the bed, no place to sit beside on the bed, maybe 200 sf, overlooking the parking lot and gaming area. TLDR: the room and environment was wildly mismatched for its $700 price point. Long story: We arrived and were shown our $580 room, which absolutely tiny, no room to walk around the bed, no place to sit beside on the bed, maybe 200 sf, overlooking the parking lot and gaming area. The front desk sold us on a $100 upgrade for ocean view. We took it, but felt like we were getting the hard sell and shown a crappy room to make the upgrade happen. Our new room had a spectacular view. No complaints there, its a beautiful property. But the room itself was a little weird. No furniture. One chair, for one person to sit, but we were two. Large empty wall with no art. Wires running from plugs to a lamp on the table. An Ikea-style lamp from ceiling for main light that we couldnt find the switch tu torun off, until I realized I had to climb on top of the bed and shut it off by hand at the power outlet by the ceiling. No rug or anyting to make large floor feel cozier, etc... just a little strange, like a dorm room decoration. The fireplace heat was cute and cozy, but it turned on and off all night lighting up the room with light, and the Nest controlling it kept reverting back to programmed settings when I tried to change it. Some of the room was not in great repair -- draweers didnt open so dresser was unuseable, wall trim separating from wall, etc... kind of funky. Not on par with the St. Regis, for example, which was $100/night less expensive for the same night last week in San Francisco. Rest of grounds were lovely. Lodge is nice, food and drinks were good. All enjoyable, we just felt like we overpaid and it left a sour taste.... We'd return at a $300 price point.
