Way surpassed my expectations. The new renovations bring a majorly upgraded look. Check in: Simple and easy. Arrived before check in and was lucky that they had a room I could pop into. Provided a cute little welcome bag for being Bonvoy member. (If you want to be earth friendly you can bring the bag and tissue paper back once you've opened the gift :) Room: Totally blown away. I didn't realize they were remodeling their rooms. I am over the moon about what I am in vs what I thought I booked. The space is updated, clean, functional and things are well placed. Love a memory foam style bed on slats or a platform which this is on. Absolutely massively thrilled about this. Nightstands have behind them above table level on the wall outlet plug ins as well as usb-c and usb ports on both sides of the bed. TV is robust size. Lounger has a shearling look with a more durable material. Love sitting on it and its firmness. I did have an issue a couple of times with swiping my card at the door and not being able to open the door. I found that making sure I had pulled the door closed all the way made a massive difference. Because then when I swiped the card, I could open it. So I just gave the door an extra little tug whenever I left it or before I was swiping my card to enter. Bathroom: look is pretty, clean and updated. Nice soft lighting behind the mirror for chill down time. This works collection are the toiletries in the bathroom. A nice herbal grounding scent range. Ok so it took me a couple tries but I found the best way to turn the shower on and not get blasted fully front with cold water. This can be done with light to minimal effort and pressure. Angle the shower head all the way down. Then turn it to face the tiled wall. Then turn on. Trust me was better than a cold splash park start. One item of note is there is nowhere in the shower to set other items I.e. my facial oil and water based cleanser. I wound up angling them and setting above the mounted toiletries in the bathroom. Hotel space is open and airy. The team's personality and attitudes bring a lovely vibe. View: Candidly one of the best that I have had in my recent trips to SLC. By far the best from the room view. Stunning to sit and watch as the day moves to night on the mountains. It is very close to the orthopedic center and other areas of the university. If you are staying there to go to the hospital or medical appointments do let the front desk know. I have saved this hotel to my favorites for SLC. Will be back. There is a Starbucks and restaurant within the hotel, which I am leaving reviews for those locations separately. All good with both getting exactly what ordered, at proper temperatures and helpful teams. I will say the two times when I ordered room service everything was delivered very nice, warm and pretty plated. If there are any accoutrements or condiments that you would like do make sure to request them. One time toast came up and there was no butter jam with it. I didn't call down and ask for any. It wasn't a big deal but in the future, I would just make sure to ask them for anything specific I wanted included with my room order. The team is overall super nice. While I was there, I found out that earlier in my trip before arriving at this hotel that I had broken a bone in my foot. They went out of their way to check in on me and make sure that I was doing OK throughout my stay with them. A lot of their team from the hotel to the restaurant and Starbucks are all just really sweet helpful people. The breakfast included is like a continental with only the oatmeal being warm. Think yogurt, granola, melon and pineapple. Danish and breads. Everything was nicely stocked and easily accessible. I was also able to order beverages or something that didn't come with it and to just pay for those. I did of course make sure to tip the staff, even though my breakfast was covered by the hotel room. (I am not reviewing any of the noise or other things in regards to renovations because I didn't experience a lot of issues or noise while I was there and within 1 to 4 weeks after I leave this review, the renovation should be completed based on the timetable that was provided in the Bonvoy app and a check-in. I will say that I do think the cleaning team and construction crew did a really phenomenal job managing the dust and everything around the hotel. I have a real sensitivity to dust and I did not have any issues whilst staying there during the construction.)
