Great stay! Excellent location just about 5 minute walk to Metro! Breakfast as expected for a Hampton! Our room was clean although a bit smaller than other King rooms we’ve stayed in at other properties. Betty and Janet at the front desk were very pleasant and friendly! Parking was tight but manageable—we parked car for the week and easily navigated anywhere we wanted to visit with metro and bus! ( DC traffic is really crazy and we were happy to leave to local “professionals”..lol! ) Only small complaint about property is the bed wasn’t the most comfortable! Very happy with our stay!

“Outstanding Staff and Convenient Location”

The staff went out of their way to help. We were there with a large group for several days and they were eager to meet any needs that came up. Very friendly and helpful. The location is great. Near many restaurants, historical sites, and shopping. It is a quick walk to the Metro for access to DC. … more

The staff went out of their way to help. We were there with a large group for several days and they were eager to meet any needs that came up. Very friendly and helpful. The location is great. Near many restaurants, historical sites, and shopping. It is a quick walk to the Metro for access to DC. The hotel was clean, though it is an older property.

“FYI - Pool closed permanently- but staff is amazing”

So we books initially on the sole purpose of the outside pool. However we learned that they closed the pool down in 2019 and have never opened it again. That was a bummer. The most outstanding part of the stay was the staff. We have stayed in tons of hotels- from the front desk staff to housekeeping and the breakfast staff, they truly are amazing. So polite and genuinely happy ,constantly cleaning and stocking up.. very nice. They held our bags when we got there Friday AM before we could check in. And even allowed us to have a late check out of 2pm since we were catching the Amtrak at 5 pm. The room- we stayed on the 6th floor- we had a two double bed room. Very clean- beds were very comfortable. Had a Fridge and microwave. The downsides… the curtains do NOT close , had to use a hair clip to help hold curtain together to block out light . There is no closet.. had a nice dress that needed to be hung up , but alas.. no place to hang it. The bathroom - the tub has an interesting floor, not good drainage due to the shape. . The toilet was really low to the floor, we have hip and knee issues so having to squat so low was a problem for us. The elevators seem old and took forever to come up or go down. And it seemed like there was no air conditioning in the hallway. The breakfast was pretty normal, no complaints. There was always bottled water out to take freely- it really came in Handy coming back from an excursion and being so hot out. Honestly we will stay here again frankly because the staff is so awesome and the rooms were really clean. There is a trolley pick up right outside the doors so it’s really convenient and it’s two blocks from the metro and Amtrak… it’s a win win.
