“Great choice in hotel.”

We’re Hilton Diamond members and love this hotel. Like most Hilton properties, free breakfast, internet and parking. This adds a beautiful indoor pool and spa. Also has a laundry room and happy hour. Excellent!!!

“Stressful”

We needed somewhere to stay where we could prepare our own meals close to UVA hospital. I sanitized the room the best I could before we moved in. We needed somewhere to stay where we could prepare our own meals close to UVA hospital. I sanitized the room the best I could before we moved in. The room seemed reasonably clean except for the kitchen which had dried food and crumbs stuck to the cabinet faces and all around the perimeter of the floor. Thankfully we knew in advance that a “full kitchen” doesn’t include an oven. The maintenance repairs look like they were preformed by someone completely unskilled - see attached pictures. We got a walk-in shower to help with accessibility, but it didn’t have a hand held shower and had very low water pressure. The toilet was probably the lowest available and the seat was loose. I thought Charlottesville must have the worst water until I realized the smell was coming from the sink drains. We were able to request a smoke free room, but I don’t see anything about a dog free room because recovery was supposed to be in a pet free environment. I asked for the HVAC filter to be changed before our arrival which I didn’t check, but there was visible debris in the unit. We had to turn the WiFi off on our phones to be able to download anything. First night I was sure the gym was above our room, but after reading other reviews I see the acoustics suck (and then looked to see that the ceiling fan also needs cleaning). I had to play loud white noise on my phone to drown out the stomping so we could get to bed early before our 6:15 AM appointments. Dealing with a severely compromised immunity I inquired before booking if I could do our own housekeeping and was reassured I could, but was given no guidance about how to remove trash or dirty linens or where to get fresh supplies. A pleasant laundry employee helped me out, but days later I was approached and rudely reprimanded by the supervisor like a common criminal and was told what I couldn’t do, but not helping me by telling me the proper procedure. They made an already stressful situation even worse. There were definitely some nice employees, but the power hungry angry ones overshadowed them. With all the security cameras it didn’t take long for them to swarm in after recognizing me from the wanted posters they must have posted - I hope I’m kidding, but there are cameras everywhere and they came to take away my clean towels in the 20’ walk to my room from the laundry room. I would definitely recommend looking for somewhere else to stay in a similar situation. Every time I opened the hotel website the room rate was different. They supposedly gave us the UVA hospital discount, but I saw the rate even lower without a discount.
