My partner and I stayed for 4 nights this August and had a good experience here. The check-in was very pleasant, and we got an upgrade to a "Coastal King" suite in the West Wing from my Diamond status with Wyndham. The room was clean and spacious, and I found the bed and bedding to be very comfortable. One half of the suite was a living room with a wet bar, kitchen table, and a seating area with two armchairs and a pullout sofa bed. The other half was a bedroom with a desk and some cross of an armoire and a TV stand. We could see the ocean at an angle from both balconies, each of which had two chairs. It was pretty quiet in our building. We really appreciated the ability to walk right onto the beach from the hotel. It's in the North End neighborhood of Virginia Beach, and maybe 2 miles from the boardwalk itself. This means that the beach is much less crowded than at the boardwalk, but you must have a car to get to restaurants or other amenities quickly. There is, thankfully, some pretty good parking availability at the hotel, and it's free. The on-site restaurant was so-so. My partner got a burger that looked decent, but the server was not being told what beers were still available that night and which weren't, which caused several back-and-forths as I placed an order, only for the server to be told when he relayed it that it wasn't available for the night. The online beer menu was also very out-of-date, which didn't help. I didn't order anything to eat since I am vegan and did not see really any options for myself. The view of the beach from our table was nice, though. As another note for anyone who avoids animal products in cosmetics, all the toiletries the hotel provided had goat milk in them. As of August 2026, you'll need to provide your own to avoid using animal products. We booked our whole stay with points at 15,000 points per night (before member discounts), and I think we received a fair deal at that rate. The location is nice, but the hotel itself was aged. There was some laminate peeling on some of the furniture, and some of the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom. These did not detract from our overall enjoyment of the room, but it does prevent me from giving a 5-star review. We would go back at some point, but we weren't sure if we would have enjoyed a non-suite room as much.
