We booked a 3 night stay at the Crowne Plaza, as we were touring the West Coast of the USA. We flew into Seattle Tacoma International Airport from San Francisco and had no problem in quickly finding the taxi rank, just outside the arrivals hall at the airport and paid around $40 for the 20 minute ride to the hotel. Externally, the hotel presents as a slim skyscraper-type building of perhaps 35 floors or so. We had made our reservation through Booking.com and got a great price (just under $400 for 3 nights, with a complimentary upgrade to a Space Needle view room). On entry, we were in a pleasant lobby-area, with the restaurant and bar on a balcony on the mezzanine level, overlooking the foyer. There is a self-service shop next to the reception desk, stocked with snacks, soft drinks, beers and wine. Our check-in was efficient and we were allocated a room on the 27th floor. The elevators are unique in that you scan your room key and it allocates one of the 3 elevators, which arrives and is already pre-programmed to take you to your floor. On entering our room, we had a spacious bathroom with bathtub, shower, wc and a range of toiletries. The bedroom was spacious, with a double-bed, sofa, desk, chair, beside cabinets and excellent lighting. The view from our window was spectacular (particularly so at night), overlooking downtown skyscrapers towards the iconic Space Needle. The room was equipped with an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, digital safe, large flat-screen TV and excellent aircon. There was ample hanging space in the wardrobe and plenty of storage space in drawers. The property has recently been fully refurbished and the standard of housekeeping was immaculate throughout. Staff were friendly and engaging. Principal sightseeing-tour companies pick-up at the hotel, which is just a few blocks (10 min walk) away from the harbour with all of it's attractions including Pike Place Market, boat tours, piers and Ferris wheel. There are a good number of restaurants within a few minutes stroll, including a London Pub style bar (The Elephant and Castle), an excellent high-end Italian Restaurant (Camile's) and a Brazilian steak restaurant ( Fogo do Chao). We'd highly recommend the Crowne Plaza as an excellent base from which you can explore Seattle
