We came to Seattle from up north for an overnight visit to have some early medical tests & procedures done at Fred Hutch. It was our first stay at the Even Hotel brand and we really enjoyed the visit. We brought our dog as pets are allowed. He loved it! The hotel sits across the street from Google and Amazon near the Mercer Street exit off I-5. It’s easy in and out, with parking in the garage below the hotel. It’s a 5 minutes to Lake Union and the surrounding area, so plenty of dog walking areas. It’s also close to REI’s mothership store, which is a must visit if you’ve never been. The hotel sits next door to another IHG hotel so make sure you go up to the right lobby floor from the garage elevator to check in. By the way, the garage is very tight to maneuver, so don’t drive a big pickup there. Our room was very modern, clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of Lake Union. The beds were very comfortable as well. We were going to go out to dinner at our favorite restaurant but once we parked and checked in, we decided to stay in and grab a cocktail and something to eat in the bar. Kristen, our bartender, took good care of us. She is amazing! She singlehandedly managed to staff the busy bar, handle food orders, and converse with her customers all at the same time. She helped us relax and enjoy our evening before a big day. We appreciated it very much. Every hotel needs an employee like Kristen! The Even Hotel is lucky to have her. It will be our home as we return for more treatments. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

“Not a Great Option if Your are Driving”

We have stayed at a lot of hotels in very urban areas and the experience here was the worst we have had as visitors who are driving to the hotel. We have stayed at a lot of hotels in very urban areas and the experience here was the worst we have had as visitors who are driving to the hotel. There site does say parking is limited but that is something we are used to seeing. This place however had a ridiculously small amount of parking and the spaces were too small even for most regular sized cars. Minivans, trucks, or SUVs had no chance. Worst part was trying to maneuver in the garage. It was so tight and sometimes nearly impossible to move around. Great stay though if you are taking a shuttle, transit, or ride share.

Stay Dates: June 22-23, 2025 Room: 520 (Two Queens) “The Good” **Early Check-In Success:** Was able to check in at 12:30 PM without issues, which was appreciated for an early arrival. **Unique Room Amenities:** As my first stay at an Even Hotel, I was impressed by the in-room exercise equipment - apparently this is standard across all Even Hotel properties. This is a fantastic differentiator for health-conscious travelers. **Room Quality:** Room 520 was well-appointed with two queen beds and a clean, modern design. The bathroom featured a stand-up shower (no bathtub), which worked fine for our needs though families with young children might prefer a tub option. **Helpful Front Desk (Day 1):** The front desk employee on check-in day was extremely helpful, waiving the $45/day parking fee since we were returning our rental car the same evening. This kind of flexibility and customer service was much appreciated. ## The Not-So-Good **Shuttle Service Disappointment:** We signed up for the cruise port shuttle service ($12/person to the ports), but the execution was poor. On June 23, we waited in the Staybridge Suites lobby (the attached sister property) with no clear direction or communication about the shuttle. After waiting with no shuttle in sight, we had to take a Lyft to Pier 91 to avoid being late for our cruise check-in. **Inconsistent Staff Knowledge:** The front desk employee on June 23 seemed overwhelmed and lacked knowledge about hotel services. The property appeared understaffed, which affected service quality. **Confusing Layout:** The connection to Staybridge Suites created some confusion, especially regarding where to wait for the shuttle service. ## Overall Thoughts The Even Hotel brand has great potential with its fitness-focused amenities and modern rooms. The early check-in and parking fee waiver showed good customer service flexibility. However, the shuttle service failure and staffing issues on departure day were significant disappointments, especially for travelers with time-sensitive connections like cruise departures. **Would I stay again?** Possibly, but I’d verify shuttle services in advance and have backup transportation plans. **Best for:** Business travelers and fitness enthusiasts who appreciate in-room workout equipment and don’t rely heavily on hotel shuttle services.
