First time staying here. Much quieter location than most of my stays in Spokane, which I appreciated. Room 502 was quiet too, even though I’m near the elevator and it has an adjoining room: I didn’t hear the elevator or the neighbors at all. Spacious and clean. Lobby attendants were universally helpful. I’ll stay here again.

“Old School Customer Service”

Immaculately clean, with an “old school” arrival experience complete with the cookie and some water. Also handed a very nice personalized letter of welcome from one of their leaders recognizing me as a Lifetime Diamond. I would have to guess it’s been more than 20 years since I’ve actually stayed at this property. I’m on the quest for the new carrot that Hilton is dangling for the Diamond Reserve status, (even though I’ve been a lifetime Diamond for more than five years). Knowing the property has been around for some time, I was a little nervous to what I would find. The room felt up-to-date and contemporary. The bathroom was immaculate as well. Plumbing worked perfectly with great hot water, and strong shower pressure. After nearly 40 years, it’s very seldom that I’m actually afforded an upgrade anymore, but I was very lucky this time to be afforded a beautiful corner room which had sweeping views of downtown Spokane, and out to the Spokane Valley. I was actually born in Spokane, but moved to the Seattle in 1964, before settling in the Coachella Valley in 2016. Walking around the riverfront park, seeing the gondola at the Spokane Falls, reminded me of my teenage years exploring downtown while visiting grandparents in the summertime. OK, getting sentimental, back to the property. It does appear that there is some slight remodeling happening, but the coffee stand, breakfast area, and snack shop were well equipped, and staffed by a very friendly barista who made my drink in record time. There is a Spencer steakhouse, and while I didn’t have time to enjoy dinner, if it’s of the same caliber of the Hilton at SeaTac airport in Seattle, I’m sure it would be a treat. In the same parking lot as the Spokane convention center, 5 to 10 minute walk to the Spokane Falls observation point, and the gondola over the Falls, which unfortunately I didn’t do this time because of a 5 AM departure tomorrow morning from GEG. Stay here! You won’t regret it.

I had a very pleasant day as usual. I’ve stayed at this hotel 1 to 2 times a year over the last 15 to 20 years. It’s a big hotel but the service is excellent. I was able to text with staff at the desk who answered all of my questions and needs. Sandy who works breakfast in the cafeteria is especially wonderful, she lightens up your whole day. The cookies are always great and they’re liberal with handing them out. I would say this is as good as any Doubletree property. I’ve stayed in and I’m an honors diamond member for the last 15 years.

The front desk staff and housekeeping team were friendly and welcoming. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. I gave this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 because the room itself didn’t quite meet the standards I expect from a Hilton property. It appears the hotel was recently renovated, but there were still a few broken fixtures and noticeable carpet stains. If this were a Best Western or Choice Privileges hotel, I would have gladly given it 5 stars. However, because it’s a Hilton, I naturally have higher expectations for the overall condition and quality of the room.
