This property was a great choice for our overnight stay. Friendly front desk staff. Hotel was under renovation, but it did not cause us any issues. Our room was nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed dinner at the on site restaurant, the cheese cake was to die for! The included hot breakfast was wonderfully prepared and presented, offering something for everyone. A free shuttle was appreciated to get to our appointments at the UW hospital. We would definitely choose to stay here in the future.

Repeat visitors to this location, due to proximity to UW Health. The hotel is well maintained, and the rooms are clean. Downsides--TV's are spotty to get working correctly with the provided remote. Also, it was very strange to have what sounded like heavy metal music playing in the lobby when we checked in...very off-putting. Maybe it's the preferred music of the front desk staff, but it sure seemed strange.

I stay at this hotel frequently when I am in Madison and have always been very pleased with my stay with two very notable, serious exceptions. I'd like to think that perhaps those were flukes, so I will list the positives first, but the negatives my last two visits were pretty significant negatives! Positivies: The hotel is clean, reasonably priced, convenient, and has good amenities. It is in a very good location - about a mile from main UW campus, 2 miles from downtown Madison, but away from most of the traffic and congestion and has free and adequate parking as well as a free shuttle, which is very convenient. It has a fairly decent free breakfast, a business center, and a washer/dryer which I have had to make use of in an emergency that was helpful. The staff is generally helpful and friendly. HOWEVER, twice in the past few months, while I have been in the room, housekeeping staff has entered the room with no warning! The first time, my son and I were sound asleep and I had forgotten to put the bolt on the door and at 7:00 a.m. a man entered the room, waking us up, saw us, and then immediately left. I jumped up and ran out of the room to chase him down. The hotel was undergoing some construction at the time and he said he thought our wing of the hotel was empty. I was alarmed and concerned and called down to the front desk and they apologized for the error and promised to speak with housekeeping. After further complaints on my part, I was offered a discounted stay, but this past week when I was there again on business and my teenage son was with me, on our last morning, at 9:30 after returning from breakfast, my son was in the shower and I was getting dressed for the day when suddenly, A MAN ENTERED OUR ROOM WITHOUT WARNING AGAIN! No knocking, no calling "housekeeping" - just unlocked and opened the door. He left immediately upon realizing the mistake and I threw on clothes and chased him down the hall. He didn't speak much English, so I pointed to the "Do not disturb" sign hung on the door and he apologized and communicated that he thought the room was vacant. Again, I called the front desk to complain and they promised to discuss the issue with the housekeeping staff. Yes, from now I will keep the bolt on the door at all times, even when I am awake in the room, but I have never had this happen in all my years of staying in hotels, so to have it happen twice in a few months is concerning. It is a major violation of privacy and security, and quite frankly, even with the bolt engaged, if I were sleeping or dressing and heard the banging of someone trying to open the door against the bolt, it would still be alarming! Housekeeping ought to know to verify if the room is vacant, knock multiple times, wait an adequate amount of time to allow for people to wake up/respond, and identify themselves through the door before ever opening a door.

“Housekeeping service requests are 100% ignored”

Room is fine. Breakfast is average. Location good for Badger football games but not for access to downtown. They do have a free shuttle if you are lucky to catch it. Rated it a 3 for housekeeping. First morning we requested at front desk to have room service that day but they require 24 hours notice of the request. Ok fine but they offered instead to bring fresh towels and empty trash, which we accepted (and requested full service for next day) We returnmed that evening but no towel service. Next day returned around 5p and no full service. We inquired at front desk and they sent someone to do it. We also requested full service for the next day. That morning we reminded the front desk and she said she would confirm with housekeeping. When we returned that night, no service. It just leaves you with a “I’m never staying at this f’n hotel again” feeling.
