★★★★★ La Veranda Resort exceeded every expectation. We stayed five nights and left already planning our return. The colonial charm of this property is unmatched — lush, green grounds that genuinely feel like a private oasis the moment you step through the gate. Our room was spacious with a huge balcony overlooking the sea, and the beach and grounds were immaculate throughout our stay. The service here is truly impeccable. Complimentary airport shuttle both ways made arrival and departure effortless, and breakfast was included every morning and absolutely fantastic. We also loved the complimentary extras — afternoon tea and culinary experiences added a lovely touch we weren't expecting. We didn't use the spa or fitness center, but both looked beautifully maintained. What really made our stay special was the people. A huge thank you to Sam (Shamir Gubot Espera), Guest Experience Manager, and his entire team for such warm hospitality. And a special mention for Ms. Trang, who looked after us at breakfast and lunch every day — she taught us a new Vietnamese phrase each morning and tested us on it the next, which turned into one of our favorite parts of the trip. It felt less like a hotel stay and more like making new friends. Every staff member we encountered — front desk, housekeeping, restaurant servers — was kind, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. Once you step outside the resort, you're also walking distance to restaurants, bars, and spas, which made the location ideal. We cannot recommend La Veranda highly enough. We'll be back.

Det føltes næsten som at opdage en lille hemmelig perle, som man egentlig har lyst til at holde for sig selv. Allerede ved første blik tænkte vi: det er her, vi skal være på vores ferie. Hele opholdet var præget af en varm og oprigtig gæstfrihed. Personalet var helt fantastisk – altid smilende, imødekommende og utroligt hjælpsomme. Særligt gjorde Sam og hans kone, som arbejdede i receptionen, et stort indtryk på os. Det, der virkelig skilte sig ud, var deres opmærksomhed på detaljerne. De vidste, hvem vi var, hilste altid personligt, og man følte sig virkelig set og værdsat. De små ting gjorde den store forskel. Hver dag var der hyggelig afternoon tea, og som en lille overraskelse kom de ofte med en sorbet is serveret direkte på stranden. Der var hele tiden noget at opleve – fra romsmagning til yoga og mindfulness – men stadig i et roligt tempo, hvor man virkelig kunne slappe af og nyde omgivelserne. Det er den slags sted, hvor tiden nærmest står stille, og hvor man glemmer alt om hverdagens travlhed. En ferie her føles ikke bare som en pause – det føles som et sted, man hører til. Og ærligt talt… det er ikke et sted, man har lyst til at rejse hjem fra. Hvis du leder efter ægte ro, skønhed og nærvær, så er dette lille paradis helt uforglemmeligt. Mvh. It felt almost like discovering a little hidden gem that you’d rather keep to yourself. At first glance, we thought: this is exactly where we want to spend our vacation. The entire stay was marked by warm and genuine hospitality. The staff were absolutely wonderful – always smiling, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Sam and his wife, who worked at the reception, made a particularly strong impression on us. What really stood out was their attention to detail. They knew who we were, always greeted us personally, and made us feel truly seen and appreciated. It was the small things that made the biggest difference. Every day there was a lovely afternoon tea, and as a little surprise, they would often serve a refreshing sorbet right on the beach. There was always something to experience – from rum tastings to yoga and mindfulness – yet everything was at a მშვიდ, relaxed pace that allowed you to truly unwind and enjoy the surroundings. This is the kind of place where time almost stands still, and you forget all about the rush of everyday life. A holiday here doesn’t just feel like a break – it feels like a place you belong. Phu Quoc is definitely having a bit of a moment—and not necessarily a good one. The island is pretty challenged by this massive construction boom; you’ve got these weird, half-finished concrete developments and Mediterranean-style villages popping up everywhere that feel completely at odds with the landscape. But honestly, the second you roll into La Veranda, all that noise just stops. It’s like stepping back in time to a version of Vietnam that actually has a soul. The place is absolutely beautiful—properly verdant and lush, like the gardens are just trying to swallow the buildings whole. It’s peaceful, calm, and incredibly serene, which is exactly what you need when the rest of the island feels like a giant building site. It’s got that old-school colonial vibe with the dark wood and white shutters, but it doesn't feel stuffy. The service was nothing short of exceptional. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, and it shows in the little details. Breakfast was a daily win, too—just wonderful, high-quality food that you actually look forward to getting out of bed for. But I’ve gotta give mad props to Sam, the guest experience manager. That guy is a legend. If you look at what anyone else is saying about the place, Sam’s name comes up constantly, and for good reason. He’s the one making sure everything is seamless, whether it’s sorting out a local tip or just checking in to make sure you’ve got a drink in your hand. He’s got this reputation for being the heartbeat of the resort, making you feel like you’re staying at a mate’s incredibly fancy estate rather than just another hotel. If you’re heading to Phu Quoc and want to actually find some peace while the cranes are spinning elsewhere, this is the spot. Stay here, see Sam, and you’ll be right.
