We had a fantastic time time at Movenpick Villa and Residences. We booked a pool access room and we loved the small private outdoor area with day bed and easy access to the pool, which is seperate to the main pool, so it was only really used by guests with a pool access room. When we arrived there was a ‘family friendly’ foam pool party going on which, was very loud from 4pm-6pm, we found this quite disruptive to our peaceful enjoyment of the resort as it occurred twice a week, tuesday’s and saturday. The restaurants were very good and we dined at all establishments, for us, the pool bar was a solid offer for lunch but not so much fur dinner. But we had an outstanding dinner at Altitude 8. We enjoyed breakfast every morning at Altitude 8 as a Gold ALL Accor member, and the staff were incredible, they made our experience even more enjoyable- remembering our coffee order every morning, they made the BEST coconut coffee!!! The spa was lovely with a private retreat available for use by spa guests after their treatments. The beach was nice, but as we were there at the start of wet season we used to pool over the beach, but we did watch sunset from the beach and the sunset views are simply stunning. The little resort store was a nice touch and we made several purchases there - the resort could benefit from a small convenience store, it would have been a nice option to buy a couple of drinks for the room with out having to rely on room service. The only drawback to the Movenpick is the location, you need a car, scooter or taxi to get to town or attractions - so this is very much a resort holiday, you can’t just walk down the street to stroll the shops or restaurants, but there is a lot of building going on in a Phu Quoc so this may change in the future. Attractions like Vin Safari, Vin Wonders and Grand World are about 10-15 minutes drive away, sunset town is about 45 minutes. I was disappointed that for such a big resort that there was no guest laundry, and whilst a hotel laundry service is available it is incredibly expensive. Overall I give the Movenpick Phu Quoc 4 stars, I would absolutely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay, the team made our stay very special and enjoyable.

I would call our stay average only because it was something very different from what we imagined. The rooms are clean, good views, comfortable bed. The hotel pickup from airport was comfortable in a clean car, and we got served cookies too. We were welcomed with a surpise setup for my daughter's birthday which was indeed a warm welcome. The service was great, and breakfast was accomodating to Indian guests with enough veggie options. But then, why average? To be honest, I booked this property for its stunning views, and huge rooms in the residence tower, thinking it would be perfect for our family trip. at first glance, things look stunning, but we consistently faced some issue or the other. First, if you are travelling with kids, book yourself the room in the resort wing, its the one closer to the beach, has the big family pools and parties and even the chocolate hour! The resort is a bit cut off in terms of location, and after every rain (which is common in Phu Quoc) you will often get the stink of the nearby landfill. There were other minor things which did't affect my quality of sleep, but often irked me, and my family. Like broken corners of furniture, a distinct damp smell when we came back. But, the property is quiet; maybe it is well suited for long-term stays rather than a fun family stay.
