If you want to see what true 5-star hospitality looks like, stay at the Sheraton Hanoi. Following a highly stressful travel day where I was denied boarding on a flight from KL to Hanoi, this hotel provided the perfect sanctuary. The care and professionalism displayed by the entire team were exemplary. The undeniable highlight of the stay was the Executive Club Lounge. The staff all around are incredible, but Oanh (the Loyalty Manager) deserves a special mention for her world-class care and seamless management. Furthermore, Quynh Anh in the lounge provided superb, deeply attentive service that made us feel completely looked after. The physical property holds up beautifully. The newly renovated suites are lovely, integrating modern, user-friendly technology. The updated toilets and mirrors are great, though the bathroom tiles/walls could benefit from a bit of an aesthetic refresh to match the sleekness of the brand-new bedrooms. On the dining side, the breakfast spread is phenomenal. The Vietnamese pho is delicious, the hashbrowns are beautifully crispy, and the kitchen team makes a perfectly cooked garlic and cheese egg white omelet. This hotel completely turned my trip around—I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We spent four nights at the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel and had a wonderful stay. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Our room was not quite ready at check-in, so we were taken to the Elite Lounge to wait, which we really appreciated as Bonvoy Titanium Elite members. Within about an hour, we were in our room. We were initially placed in a standard room on the top floor with an amazing view of West Lake. The room was small, but nicely renovated, well appointed, and designed in tasteful, calming colours. It was an adjoining room, however, and later that evening there was quite a bit of noise from the neighbouring room. We had not mentioned this to anyone at the hotel, but the next evening, one of the senior lounge staff proactively approached us at dinner and asked if we would like to move to a non-adjoining room, noting that adjoining rooms can sometimes be noisy. She explained that it would be on a lower floor, but would be a Junior Suite. We gladly accepted and moved that evening. That kind of thoughtful, proactive service really stood out. The Junior Suite was much larger and equally well appointed, and we greatly appreciated the staff member’s awareness and initiative. Once again, the staff were the highlight of the hotel. Everyone we interacted with was gracious, friendly, and consistently concerned with our comfort. This level of warmth and hospitality was something we experienced throughout Vietnam, and the Sheraton Hanoi was no exception. The room was clean and had plentiful bottled water, coffee, and tea supplies, all of which were generously replenished each day. The lounge was also excellent: well laid out, comfortable, and offering plenty of options for both breakfast and dinner. Located on the top floor, it was also a lovely place to eat, relax, and enjoy the views over Hanoi. The hotel property itself is very nice, with on-site restaurants, cafés, an outdoor pool, and good workout facilities. We used the fitness centre for a run one day, and also managed to run outside a few times, though running in Hanoi can be challenging with so many motorcycles. The hotel is located in a pleasant lake neighbourhood with plenty of amenities nearby. It is not especially walkable to the main tourist sites, but it is easy and inexpensive to use Grab to get around. There was some daytime construction underway as the hotel continues upgrading rooms, but it was never an issue for us. Overall, the Sheraton Hanoi Hotel provided a calm, comfortable retreat after long, hot days of sightseeing in Hanoi. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly return.

“Beautiful hotel, in iffy area.”

Lovely hotel. Wonderful staff. Very good food in the buffet. The surrounding area is very trashy. Seems a lot of Hanoi is like this. I’d stay here again if forced to come back to this area.
